Shady McCoy Value/Trade

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

I was offered 1.8 straight up for LeSean McCoy, should I take it or leave it?

Shady McCoy Value/Trade

Postby Markdavis3033 » Wed Mar 21, 2018 4:45 am

Talking with an owner about a possible trade involving LeSean McCoy, but I'm having a tough time putting a value on him. This is in a 12 team ppr dynasty league.

He's offering the 1.8 for McCoy straight up. Would you take the deal or leave it?

Here's my roster:

Start 11 on offense

QB (start 2):
Brady
Brees
McCaron

RBS (start 2-5):
Christian McCaffrey
Devonte Freeman
Mark Ingram
LeSean McCoy
Dion Lewis
Matt Breida
Joe Williams

WRs (start 3-6):
Michael Thomas
Golden Tate
Larry Fitz
Chris Hogan
Jameson Crowder
Randall Cobb

TEs: (start 1-2):
Gronk
Jared Cook

You also start a kicker and a punter

My Draft Picks:
2.12
3.2
3.7
3.8
3.11
4.10
5.12

I like the trade for you. This is a nice draft and you have decent depth at RB. Shady has been great but he is at the crossroad imo.

You have the RB depth to manage losing McCoy and you're getting out with a first for him while you can (he should still put up point 1-2 years at least but his value will continue to drop).

I def make that deal in a Superflex.

You have RB depth to spare, your QBs are old, and no matter what either one of the top 4 RBs or 5 QBs will drop to you at 1.08.

I'm actually somewhat surprised someone will pay that for McCoy these days, Buffalo is going to have a rookie QB, and they'll be playing from behind/passing a ton, and because Tyrod isn't a threat to run defenses can more easily load the box to stop McCoy.

Selling McCoy for that pick is a great deal in the long term.

I'd do that for multiple reasons:
1. McCoy is worth a late 1st, but 1.08 in a 2QB = 1.05 in normal leagues due to the top rookie QBs being drafted early.
2. You have enough RB depth as a contender to make this move. You can use 1.08 to upgrade your QBs or draft one of the rookies if they fall to you there.

That's fair value for McCoy and since you already have 3 other good starting RBs, I'd make that move.

Ended up taking the deal.

Final trade ended up being McCoy and Carl Lawson for 1.8 and Brandon Graham.

Now I gotta figure out who to take at 1.8
