Liquidating my 1.01

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Liquidating my 1.01

Postby Bay City Original » Sun Mar 18, 2018 12:58 pm

Another owner offered: Agholor, 1.05, 1.07, and 3.02 for my 1.01 pick... which I am declining. I'm only entertaining the idea of liquidating the 1.01 because I'm in complete restock mode and he's got a lot of picks. Is there a counter offer that anyone could recommend that might be worth doing with a combination of his picks?

The 1.01 pick was "earned" this past season and my most notable players on roster are:
QB: Rodgers, Luck
RB: Gio, Lynch, Blount
WR: Cooper, Mike Williams, Enunwa, Fuller, Godwin, Zay
TE: Eifert, OJ Howard
1.01, 1.02, 2.02, 2.10, 2.12

This is a SuperFlex, PPR League... and yes, OUCH... I know.

The other owner has the following picks: 1.05, 1.07, 1.10, 1.12, 2.07 and two 2019 1st and 2019 2nd.

Thanks!

I'm not sure I'd accept that offer for the 1.02, yet alone the 1.01. Easy decline

Your team isn't in great shape but I don't think its in complete rebuild either. You have arguably the 2 best QBs in a superflex if Luck can come back healthy. Your RBs are by far your weakest position, currently they can hopefully give you 1 serviceable year. I like most of your WR potential, obviously they are young, so its a wait and see situation with most of them, but I think of few of them could pan out for you and TE is a question mark at this stage. I think I would just take Barkley and Guice and bolster your weakest position. You don't want to regret giving up Barkley to get a bunch of avg players, especially if your WR start to pan out. If you feel like you want more shots in the draft. try to sell your 1.02 but definitely not the 1.01. And in a Superflex the 2.02 should get you another talented prospect at WR or RB. Good Luck

Look at it this way. What would you expect to get back for Michael Thomas or a healthy David Johnson w/o the baggage the Cardinals now have? The guys currently valued in Saquon's range are David Johnson, Michael Thomas, Kamara and Lev Bell, and in a lot of ways Saquon is more attractive then any of them due to situation:

Johnson: Head Coach, and starting QB are gone, no good QB's on roster, team seems to be in tear down mode.

Michael Thomas: When are Brees and Payton leaving? Seems like after the 2019 season.

Kamara: Same as Thomas, plus could have touches reduced.

Lev Bell: Could get Josh Gordon'd at a moments notice, at an impasse with Pittsburgh, and Ben Roth's about to retire.

In Barkley you get a mystery landing spot (sounds like NYG, Indy or Tampa Bay right now), and he's younger than all of those guys.

For me the comp is the standard 3 to 4 firsts, or vets and firsts that are elite.

The one trade NO 1.01 owner should accept (and I say this as someone who has multiple 1's) is known firsts outside of the blue chip zone in this draft thrown together with a second or two.

Getting a couple of guys who have 50%+ bust risk and a guy who has a 75%+ bust chance for Barkley is a losing trade, period.

If I'm trading the 1.01, I'm either get stud young vets, or multiple '19 1sts from a team that sucks, and an '18 1st that's top 2 or 3 and something else.

That's probably why I'm not going to be able to trade down with anyone.

I can tell you that the reasonable offers I've seen at close to 50% have been the Kamara plus a late 1st plus a 2nd, and while that's nice, I still wouldn't take it because of the bust risk of the late 1st and 2nd and the fact that I don't view Kamara as near Barkley's level of talent, regardless of his performance in 2017 in a perfect situation.

that is an easy pass to me too...especially for the 1.01

i think you should be able to take care of some of the holes with this rookie draft...
having pick 1.01 and 1.02 should take care of your RBs...and then you could try to use your 2 2nd round picks to move back up and grab one of the WRs..however, since this is a superflex league, you may be able to get one with pick 2.02

You need help at RB and WR. Seeing as how you already have the 1.02. I would consider moving it for the 1.05, 1.07, 1.10, and those two 2019 1sts. I know it's hard to estimate some times, but any idea where those 1sts might land. I know it's hard to move Barkley, but I think that would be a very good haul and would set you up really nice for the future. This would give you 4 first round picks this year and 3 next year, assuming you have your 1st still. If you were to make this move I would recommend drafting all RBs this year and all WRs next year.

Good point, he might be able to snag a QB at 1.07 or 1.10, and still be able to snag some excellent prospects with those 2nds, Didn't realize the OP had three. You might be able to package 2 of them if you want for another 2019 1st.

With this thinking that the 1st may have slightly more value because of super flex... would a counter of 1.01 for 1.05, 1.07, 1.10, 2.07 and a 2019 1st be still too light?

I'm not desparate to sell the 1.01 and having Barkley and Guice (or someone else depending on actual player draft location) would be nice... but trying weigh all my options.

Swap out Agholor for a much better player, but without seeing his roster, don't know who that player would be.

I wouldn't move any of the 1sts until after the NFL draft unless you get a massive overpay. They will continue to climb in value. He'll likely come back with a better offer.

I too would wait until after the NFL draft before you make this trade with him, unless he is willing to overpay to get Barkley. If you are just trading draft picks, I would ask for 1.05, 1.07 1.10 & his 2 2019 1st Rd picks & his 2019 2nd Rd picks. Not sure if he would accept this offer, bt explain to him that if he wants barkely, then he has to pay to get him. This trade I would make because you are moving from 1.01 to 1.05 (just 4 spots) but you are getting his 2 2019 1st Rd picks & his 2nd Rd picks that will set up team up very nicely.

If he won't got for this counter offer the offer him 1.02 for his 1.05,1.07 1.10 and his highest 2019 1st Rd pick and his 2019 2nd Rd pick. and if he refuses this offer, then offer up this final counter offer: 1.01, Gio & Enunwa for his 1.05,1.07,1.10 Mixon or Cook & Kupp. Thinking with this counter offer is if he won't part with any of his 2019 picks then he need to replace those picks with 2nd yr players. Make him aware that you are happy to stay at 1.01 and are not desperate to trade it. Good luck.

P.S.
Team in my dynasty league has the first three draft picks in this upcoming draft. On draft day, I will offer him (3) 2019 1st Rd picks (projected to be Top 5 at this time) for his 1.01. This is the same GM that last year traded 1.01 (RB: L. Fournette) for (4) 2018 first Rd picks that turned out to be the Top 3 picks this year. If he balks at my offer then I will add (2) 2019 Rd picks to my offer to get Barkley.
