OBJ, David Johnson, or Todd Gurley

Postby Lime » Sat Mar 17, 2018 6:56 pm

12 team PPR : 2RB, 2WR, 2RB/WR/TE

I have character concerns long term with OBJ but I am not sure I fully trust in Gurley yet either. DJ's situation is a bit murky with new QB and new coach. Who would you rather have?

I am a contender, pretty solid at all positions, my starting RBs will be Ingram/Hyde but I also have Derrick Henry, Mixon, and the 1.01, but all of these RBs have questions this year

My WRs of note: OBJ, AJ Green, A. Cooper, Josh Gordon, Allen Robinson

Do I try to trade OBJ for Gurley or DJ or do I sit tight and just roll with what I have?

Keep OBJ (and even more so with your WR and RB group).

obj for me aswell. I like those rb's but when you think long term....id need a nice pick or wr added to move him for a rb. you didn't list your entire team, but based on what you have mentioned....you already have a nice team, this doesn't seem like a very good move at all imo.

I think your WR core is strong enough and young enough to survive without OBJ. Go get Gurley, he should be a stud in that offense for years to come. While WR do generally have better longevity, Gurley is 2 years younger than OBJ, so they may actually hit their production decline around the same time and also imo true bellcow RBs like Gurley win you championships.

I voted Gurley because I trust his production more than I trust OBJ to stay on the field. But then I saw your roster, and you need the WR more than the RB. If you do take Gurley, you should be able to get a little something, like a future 2nd, but then I would explore a trade of the 1.01 for a stud WR. Add a little to get Hopkins, get some back for Allen or Thomas, etc... I would just hold and draft Barkley, unless you can get Gurley using 1.01 plus a little.

Poll result are as expected at about 50/50.

I like gurley over OBJ, never been a fan of him for the same character issues you have. So if I’m choosing a toss up I go for the guy I like more.

OBJ is a headcase. I don't trust him. Besides, RBs win championships.

Toss up between OBJ and DJ for me. I like Gurley but I think people have forgotten how much better DJ is/was in 2015&2016.

I am also surprised to see DJ with so few votes. He was far and away the best player just two years ago.

Based on everyone's advice I think I'll hold OBJ for now and possibly trade him if ARob or Cooper do what they are supposed to.

Thank you for the advice everyone!
