This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Do you have to cut him? If there are roster cuts required or there is a better stash then yeah cut him. If you want to cut him just because of Burton than no keep him for now.

I mean in a non TE premium only start one league I'm holding for now. We'll see based on roster constraints and how my offseason goes but I'm not convinced on how good Burton actually is.

QB - Cousins, Luck, Mayfield

WR - OBJ, Robinson, K.Allen, C.Davis, Allsion, M.Bryant, C.Coleman, Moncrief, P.Richardson, Chark

Picks - 2019: 3-5

Team 2 - 12 Team, SF 0.5 PPR, 4/6TD

1 QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1SF, 1FLEX, 1TE

QB - Cousins, Goff, Tannehill, Mayfield, Jackson

I certainly don't have to cut him and IMO there really isn't any good stash candidates on the wire. Thanks for the advice.

I would think in a 2TE league, you could at least sell him on the cheap instead of dropping.

Trey Burton is a replacement for Dion Sims. They are looking to ship him. Burton and Shaheen are not the same TE. They offer two different variables in the offense but they are both versatile threats.

Shaheen is vertical target with blocking capabilities, who would have the ability to move out in the flat or over the middle, if he doesn't have an assignment. He will set his block and then move out over middle for those streaky catches which Gronkowski is known for. Big red zone target too.

Burton on the other hand is a move down the field TE/half-back flex option. Every defensive coordinator and their mother knows when he is in the set it's not to set up a block. He doesn't have the upper body strength. He does have a lot of athletic prowess and has had success running outside the numbers, moving LBs out of the midfield. You'll see him move a lot behind the line of scrimmage and set up some nice decoy plays. Think Charles Clay.

Now imagine them both on the field. Mitchell Trubisky loves two TE sets. It offers a lot when the WR core lacked last season. You'll get like 5-6 TDs a season from each of them.

In my opinion, they are both holds, especially in a two TE league. Or wait for Shaheen to show value and trade him. I see you have a lot of quality options at TE and Engram somewhat offers the same as Shaheen so you don't need two young TEs.

Good stuff. The Bears are lacking at WR so it wouldn't surprise me to see Shaheen take a step forward and haul in 30-35 catches. He has a bright future.

You have much better cut candidates in John Brown and Hollins.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

Agree... in the league where I own Shaheen I am keeping (and it is standard TE scoring)
Team 1, 0.5 PPR SuperFlex: QB, FlexQB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, Flex
QB: Watson, Herbert (Mariota)
RB: Barkley, Jacobs, Dobbins (Akers, K Herbert)
WR: DJ Moore, Woods, Golladay (T Patrick, Shenault, Rondale M, Cephus)
TE: Goedert (Njoku, Bryant, Trautman)
Pick 1.01

TEs take time to develop. Just because they signed Burton doesn't mean long-term Shaheen won't be worth anything. Just have to have patience and not worry about short-term production.

Agreed. Even Brissett is more of a cut than those two.

He's one of those guys that owners will eventually get tired of holding for 2-3 years, and once you drop him, he'll break out.

This cannot be stated too frequently nor emphatically.
