This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Dynasty offseason year 2. Help!!

Postby Siebra24 » Sat Feb 24, 2018 8:37 pm

Im in a 20 team dynasty league with .5ppr. You start 1 qb, 1 rb, 2 wrs, 2 flexs, 1 te, then your dst and kicker. Its a contract league where you start off with $140 for salary. I just got Melvin Gordon and Laquon Treadwell for Isaiah Crowell, Evan Engram and a 2020 1st rounder in one of my trades. Also just got Brandin Cooks for Sterling Sheppard, Rob Kelley and pick #40 in our rookie draft. My team is the following

Qbs: Matt Stafford, Teddy Bridgewater and Nathan Peterman
Rbs: Melvin Gordon, Tevin Coleman, Chris Carson, Peyton Barber, Joe Williams
Wrs: Brandin Cooks, Devante Parker, Zay Jones, Mack Hollins.
No tight ends on roster,
Tevin Coleman, Devante Parker and Teddy Bridgewater are all rfas in my league and i have $36 to work with cap wise. What do you guys think i should do to address my wide outs and tight ends spots with no draft capital for 2018?

That's a tough one. The first thing I would do is stop giving away your draft capital. You purchased a win-now piece in Gordon by giving away Engram (projected to be on a short trip to top 3-5 TE status), a future 1st, and a RB who could do something if given the chance. I like the Cooks trade but even then, you may not have 6 viable starters including that missing TE.
At the very moment Chris Carson starts to show he has recovered from injury and therefore value, I would look to move him for a WR prospect you like or package him with Jones for viable starter. I'd hold Coleman, as he'll go somewhere else next year most likely and have a starting job. And unless you find a believer who will offer you current ADP value on Parker, he may be a hold as well. He has the potential to fill a spot for you, but the jury is still out on whether or not he will reach it. If you could flip Gordon in a deal that netted you 2 good young starters, that would be worth looking at as well, but be sure not to give him away. He is your most valuable offensive starter (outside of Stafford with that league size). Good luck.

Thanks! Yeah last year was my 1st time ever in one of those dynasty leagues and its preety awesome! I took over an expansion team so i started over completley from scratch. Bad thing is i dont have draft capital this year but for 2019 i have my 1st and four 2nd rounders to make up for that just in case if something doesnt play out with the roster. Im most likely looking to trade barber away for a pick this year and see where that goes.

You should look to do that sooner rather than later. TB has been linked with going after a RB or two in many different articles, so I'd shop him before the NFL selects rookies. His value probably will not be higher than now after Martin's release.

Im thinking in a 20 team league to shoot for a late 1st, early 2nd rounder for barber and then using that pick on a tight end possibly the one from south dakota state, andrews from oklahoma or gosecki from penn state
