More general question: do you ever NOT do a deal because it further decimates a bad owner?? His roster is so weak and he has no 2018 picks. And now he's trying to trade away what is likely the 2019 1.01. If he bails, we'll never get a replacement owner.

This is why you make owners pay to trade future picks!

Also I would make the trade. Even if its not 1.01 you still have a good chance its better than the 1.10 this year. There is some very intriguing prospects next year. However this year Is pretty loaded as well. Its a fairly even trade

My only hesitancy is I feel I'm in a position to compete this year. While my team is not very deep, the league is very top heavy so teams 3-6 are not very strong. I had planned to move the 1.10 for a QB upgrade and the 1.05 for RB depth. But this offer seems to good to pass up.

I would take the deal. It's too bad you have to worry about an owner bailing out however. I feel some fantasy players are just not cut out to play dynasty.

Ha. Funny story. Pretty much the exact same situation happened in my league

I had a trade accepted of our junk team's 2019 1st (been 1.1 or 1.2 the last 3 years and forcefully renamed "The Browns"), for like Robby Anderson, Mohamed Sanu, James White and a 2019 2nd.

Commissioner vetoed it. Only time in our league's 5 year existence a veto has ever been used (by-laws do state comish can veto in extreme circumstances beyond just collusion). The issue wasn't so much the trade, but that he's traded away his 1st round pick the last 3 years in a row to miss out on Gurley, Zeke, and Fournette if he had just stayed put. He's a friend of the comish, but comish couldn't bear to see him do it again and ruin his already horrible team further. Simple answer is to simply boot from the league, but the friend thing and 8/10 owners local makes in complicated. So Comish has locked down that team's 1st round draft picks until he finishes outside of the bottom 4 (which he's never done since the creation of the league)

To the TS- You care about your own team first and foremost. If he's a trash owner, he's just gonna make an equally crappy deal with another owner for his 2019 1st anyway. Make the trade and take the early 19 1st. It's on the commish to police the situation or let it go
