testing would you trade zeke or dj for 1.01+

Postby finkle1121 » Mon Feb 19, 2018 11:26 am

I have zeke and I have dj. Im not doing it but I want to see what people prefer when it comes to zeke for 1.01 or dj for 1.01. Straight up it doesn't make sense and the person with the 1.01 would probably want to do it straight up but lets assume i get a very small piece back with the 1.01. What is all the opinions on something crazy like this?
Team 1
12 team 30 player full ppr
Start 1QB,2RB,3WR,1TE,3FLEX
QB: Ryan, Mariota, Luck
RB: Zeke, LBell, Dj, Mixon, Gio, Rod Smith, Alfred Morris, Edmonds
WR: Antonio Brown, Mike Evans, Woods, Edelman, Golden, Baldwin, Nelson, Garcon, John Brown, Ricardo Louis, Carlos Henderson
TE: Kittle, Gesicki
Picks: 5.12

Team 2
10 team 30 player NON ppr
Start 1QB,2RB,3WR,1TE,3FLEX
QB: Mahomes, Cousins, Darnold
RB: Guice, Lindsey, R.Freeman, Carson, Penny, Ballage
WR: Golladay, M.Williams, Dede, KCole, Meredith
TE: Kittle, Njoku, Hunter

Those are guys we're hoping Barkley turns into at the NFL level, so I would need something useful on top of the 1.01 to move one of them for an unknown, even one as "foolproof" and "generational" as Barkley.

I would trade DJ for 1.01+, DJ is going to be 27 years old next season. If the Cardinals don't go out and get a QB then opposing teams will stack the box and make whoever their QB is throw the ball. Fitz only has 1 more season in him so if you look at long term I feel like its going to be really hard for DJ to maintain the numbers he put up in 2016.

I'm very high on Barkley and I think he will give you more long term value then DJ will. It's very possible he may even give you similar stats to DJ in year one or two depending on where he gets drafted.
16 team - 42rosters - 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 2FLEX, 1PK, 3DE/DL, 2DB, 2LB, 1DFLEX
QB: D. Brees, M. Stafford.
RB: L. Bell, D. Cook, J. Conner, M. Sanders, A. Blue, J. Ajayi, A. Barnes.
WR: M. Thomas, A.J. Green, J. Jones, C. Godwin, Z. Jones, J. Reynolds, K. Kirkwood, J. Moore, J. Hurd, T. Benjamin.
TE: Z. Ertz, J. Smith, M. Andrews, D. Waller, J. Sternberger.
K: M. Badgley.
DB: L. Collins, J. Johnson, J. Tart, C. Geathers, M. Blair.
DL: C. Dunlap, D. Barnett, J. Casey, B. Graham, G. McCoy, J. Allen.
LB: T. Whitehead, J. Hicks, J. Collins, J. Brown, K. White, G. Avery, C. Barton, B. Cashman, J. Ryan, J. Tavai, Q. Williams.
Picks:
2020: 2, 4, 4, 5
2021: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

I would need more than a small + so didn't vote. People get caught up sometimes on potential and forget that a proven stud in hand makes more sense.

Ding ding ding. It would need to be a sizeable piece, I don't care how good you think Barkley might be. His ceiling is what you have in Zeke or DJ.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

This is all great info. Keep it coming. Trying to prove a point to someone that barkley is not worth more than either of those players and would need more than just barkley to make the deal. What sense does it make to trade a elite player for the "potential" of a player at the same position? Zero imo. you either get someone equal to zeke and dj or you lose

Of the 3 options, Zeke is #1 for me, with DJ next and then the 1.01+. Give me an elite proven asset over potential any day, especially because we don't know landing spots yet. DJ I would consider moving for 1.01+ a solid piece (something like 1.01+Mixon). But that is simply because I'm a little lower on DJ than the consensus and I'm worried about his long-term value.

This is hard coming from a Redskins fan but I'd say Zeke. Younger than DJ, and a proven commodity. Barkley looks to be a great can't miss prospect, but I'd want to know what I could get with him, to make it worth the risk over taking Zeke.

Can you help with mine? viewtopic.php?f=6&t=155637&p=1405115#p1405115

I would move DJ for the 1.01 wit an added piece. I would not move Zeke however.

Poll seems flawed. How do I vote that I would trade dj straight up but not Zeke?

I'm with this. As a 1.01 owner, few things would get me to trade this pick- But, Zeke would be one of them. Possibly even DJ, but I'd have to think about that one more.

I would not trade zeke straight up or even a small +

DJ I would consider.

I would consider moving DJ for the 1.1 as long as the + was big enough
