'19 1st for McCoy

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

'19 1st for McCoy

Postby Ben1989 » Fri Feb 16, 2018 12:28 pm

For team 2 in my sig.

I have been offered Lesean McCoy for my '19 1st. I consider my team a contender and think this is a good deal. Only catch is that I already have to cut one from that team before the draft and this would make me have to cut a 2nd.

So, would you do the deal, and if so what 2 player from my team would you cut?

Gio or Lewis for me. I fancy Mixon to emerge as a 3 down back and push gio to back up duties. If you’d prefer to keep a handcuff (Gio is as good as they come) then drop Lewis because you know... he’s a pats RB. This time last year the pats signed Gillislee, Burkhead and everyone was hyped about them. I like Lewis but he’s not a stand out talent either so even if he moves I don’t fancy him to cement himself into a every down role.

Definitely need a RB like Shady to be a contender. I don't see your team as a strong contender in a 12 team lg But I haven't seen the other teams. So say your pick in is the 1.08 - 1.10 I'd still make the deal.

Cut Lockett & Taywan.

I try not to (although I did just buy Yeldon for a 3rd) buy RBs in offseason. Too many things can change during draft and free agency.

I think you are looking at Team 1 - I agree that team isn't ready to compete. This is for team 2. I already have Freeman/Mixon and if I do the deal probably have to cut 2 of Gio/Lewis/Edelman/Garcon.

If you add McCoy, I agree your 1st would be late. I don't know that it's worth leveraging your future draft flexibility on a 1-2 year rental, though. Your team looks competitive already, with a bounce back year from Beckham and a better line around Mixon. I'd use your 19 1st to target a 2018 1st or another younger asset before I gave it for McCoy.

I would drop Gio and Garcon. Lewis will probably leave NE as a FA and would increase in value to become another trade chip

I like the deal if you can win now with it. Dropping Lewis seems nonsensical to me though, he just came off a good season and may be out of NE in FA. I would probably do Gio and Garcon - this league looks pretty shallow, so they don't need to be stashed.

I would pay a 1st for McCoy I mean I offered Sammy + for him and got denied , I think he has 2 more top 5-10 RB years left and maybe another top 15
