Postby Rams Fan » Fri Feb 16, 2018 12:22 pm

TEAM 2:

Both guys have 2 years left on their contracts. Would you pay the 1.08 on top of Fournette to get DJ for 2 years of production?

I think D.J. has more upside and LFs injuries worry me a bit, but looking at your team you could do with another option at RB2 because of the cloudy future of Hyde, you could probably get that at 1.08 in SF rookie draft.

So keep LF and 1.08 for me but wouldn’t blame you for taking DJ
12 Team 1 pt PPR

I think selling high on Fournette is a good plan, but adding a first to him is too much. I realize the 2-yr contract thing is a leveler for age, but LF's youth should bridge the gap to DJ's proven production for most.
I don't trust Fournette to stay on the field.

lmfao how is david johnson "proven" when hes done anything 1 year and i guess maybe half another tops? plus hes almost 5 years older than fournette and johnson has plenty an injury history himself. i just dont get ppl acting like he gets a pass for all that

Haha, knotts I give you credit...you’re consistent in your hate for DJ. Been going strong for 3 years now. I agree that adding a 1st to LF is too much, but I respectfully disagree on your assessment of DJ, especially in ppr leagues. Fournette had 1342 total yards and 10 total TDs in his rookie season and finished as RB9 (212.6 fantasy points). DJ in his rookie season had 1038 total yards (not counting return yardage, which was substantial at 598 yards) and 12 TDs (he had a 13th that was a return TD) and also finished RB9 when calculating in that return yardage (202.9 fantasy points) on 111 LESS TOUCHES. DJ’s sophomore season was historically great, and he is 3 years and 1 month older than Fournette, not “almost five years older”. I respect your opinions on here, and line up with you on player value more often than not, but I’ve never fully understood your loathing of David Johnson. We’ll agree to disagree on him.

to be clear i dont flat out hate david johnson just think hes very much overvalued since he came into the league really. there is no doubt hes a good player but i just cant understand what ppl see in him. i will always see him as the type of player that will constantly have injury concerns and eventually (soon imo) be part of a rbbc to keep him healthy

DJ easily here. It was a wrist injury, little to no doubt in my mind he'll be a 1,500+ 10 TD+ RB1.

I am going to join this bandwagon. DJ easily for me. I hate LF need 30 carries to get to 100 yards and a touch. That type of workload is not sustainable.

Age has absolutely nothing to do here when they're both on 2 year contracts. I think DJ will outscore Fournette by a lot over that span and giving up the 1.08 to get that kind of talent is cheap.

DJ for me. I like Fournette and all but DJ’s usage in the passing game puts him on another level, imo. I only play PPR leagues though so that definitely makes a difference.
