Fournette vs M Thomas

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Fournette vs M Thomas

Postby hoos89 » Fri Feb 16, 2018 12:18 am

I've received an offer to give Thomas in exchange for Fournette straight up. My team is pretty stacked at WR (although Thomas us my best and my others arent as safe...Watkins, ARob, Corey Coleman, Davante Adams, Kelvin, Robert Woods, Marqise Lee) and very weak at RB.

Is this close enough in value that it makes sense from a team needs perspective?

I would need more back with Fournette to do this. It's not a bad start though.

If the early reviews on this draft classes RBs and WRs pans out, it seems like we're going to have a real shortage of young, elite WRs soon. The 2014 class is already hitting second contracts, Julio, AJG, Dez and DT are in their 30s. Even if there weren't injury concerns for Fournette I would lean Thomas just for this reason.

If they thought straight-up was fair then there probably isn't much room to negotiate, but I would respond with something like a mid-1st added on their side.

I value Thomas a good amount of spots higher than LF...i would need more on the Fournette side to deal Thomas for him personally.

Piling on, I'd need more on top of Fournette.

Agreed... I would probably need atleast a first 1.05-1.08 + LF.

With injury concerns to LF, there is not enough value here to move Thomas. Decent offer but Thomas is the better/safer player.

What if I added a Coleman for Hyde swap? So I'd get Hyde + LF for Coleman + Thomas.

I agree with everyone else and I like Coleman more than Hyde so this doesn’t help any for me.

I think that's closer but not enough
