Evans/Gio for 1.02/1.07/2.02/2.03 *** UPDATED

Postby pokerplayer1000 » Thu Feb 15, 2018 9:06 pm

Offer is in my inbox and I posted something similar about a week ago.

**** Offer is now 1.02/1.07/2.03/3.01 for Evans and Gio****

I am being dumb if I pass on this correct? This trade would still leave me with 1.01, 1.05, 1.12, 2.01, 2.02, 2.07, 2.09 to add depth and a QB

I would also then be looking at the roster below plus all of those picks

If I were to make this trade my team would look something along the lines of
Mariota
Fournette, Mixon/GIO, Barkley(I have 1.01)
Evans, Nuk, Sanu, Marvin Jones
Ertz, Henry

I went through and started a massive rebuild last year and currently hold 1.01, 1.02, 1.05, 1.07, 1.12, 2.01-2.03, and a 1 or 2 other later 2nds I cant recall. Do I make this trade for a stud in Evans or hold all of those assets to continue to rebuild. Even with Evans my team still lacks any depth at all.

Thoughts?

Hold tight. Evans’ value not going up the picks will. I’ll bet you can get him draft day for the 1.2 or at most 1.2 +2.3. If not seek cheaper option.

This is a fantastic price for Evans. A top young WR1 for an early 1st and a mid 1st?

I think we're seeing some of the Barkley hype bleed over to the 1.02 also, for some reason.

Mike Evans has put up 1 elite season in 4 years. In 2014, 2015, 2017 he was a WR2. 2015 he was WR24. I do think he’ll be a top 12-15 WR for the next 5 years but perhaps he isn’t going to be the perennial top 5 guy we thought he would be.

Gio doesn't do much for me here, but Evans alone is worth more than that bundle of draft picks

Update: Looking at your team 100% do that trade. You'll have Nuk and Evans at WR, 2 out of the top 3/4 dynasty WRs plus Fournette, Mixon (with Gio as injury/idiot insurance) and Barkley for three very solid RBs. Sanu is a serviceable WR3 and you have that 1.10 to use on maybe one being left of Ridley or Washington to get some depth there. Your TEs are beautiful and maybe you can use a 3rd to grab a QB

Your team after this trade will look like its at the tail end of a successful rebuild and young and looking to fight for a championship soon. Good work

Yep. Many still see Evans as a top 5 WR and top 10 dynasty asset based on potential. Others of us see him as a top 12 WR and top 20-25 dynasty asset based on performance/weaknesses.

The fact that you hadn't accepted it before, with all the responses you got, means you better get it done soon before your trade partner comes to his senses.

Player A's First 4 seasons.
52-802-2
76-1210-6

Player B's First 4 seasons
68-1051-12
74-1206-3
96-1321-12
71-1001-5

A = Hopkins, B = Evans

Performance/Weakness? Evans is 24 years old, already has 4 1,000 yard seasons in the NFL, and is a size/speed freak. I don't think their are many WRs outside of OBJ that have produced more in their first 4 seasons.

If you look Hopkins and Evans have pretty similar career paths, both steadily improved through their first 3 years and each was a high end WR1 in their 3rd year. Then both had QB/offense issues their forth year and had down years. The people who are selling low on Evans after a down year are going to regret it just as much as the people who sold Hopkins low last off-season.

Saying that a player is a WR2 because he hasn't produced top 5 numbers more than once in the beginning of his career is very shortsighted. Especially for a player who came into the league as young as Evans was and has visibly demonstrated improvement. Many people consider Hopkins a top 2/3 dynasty asset now (which he is). But you could argue he's only had 2 WR1 seasons in his first 5 years. The recency bias is insane.
