Someone took my 2018 1st in a trade after my trash team went 0-13 last year. That pick ended up being 1.09! Gutting for them!

After our startup, a guy made a minor trade for me involving my 2nd, he admitted later reason he made it was looking at rosters post-draft he was certain I was going to finish bottom three

I won the championship

Two years ago the player that went dead last drafted Zeke and then took 2nd the following year, so grabbing his early first would have backfired royally. There are very, very few times you can be extremely certain of a future 1st being early. You can normally peg the late ones, but not early

In my team 1 league, guy got the 1st off the team that finished last the year before, and he finished last again this year. So our defending champion currently has the 1.1 which he got for cheap which sucks ballz. I tried trading for the dumpster fire's 2019 1st, and commissioner implemented the veto rule for the 1st time in the 5 years of the league Locked that bleep team's 1st unless it involves a top 15 asset. To be fair, I was offering Ajayi, Robby Anderson (pre-arrest), Mohomed Sanu, and a 2nd so it was a downright steal but the owner agreed to it

The potentially early 2019 1st is what makes this interesting for me, and it would come down to the construction of my roster.

Shady + a swing for the fences with 1.07 + 2019 1.01-1.03 could allow you to break even for the next 1-2 years production wise while MAYBE breaking even long-term value wise as well (with a little change on top). Flipping Shady for something else you prefer (young WR, another early pick, another young RB, etc) could make this look like a better long-term move as well.

I lean towards Fournette right now, but if you could line up a deal to move Shady for something better before taking this I would be awfully tempted. Value wise you could turn this into something similar to the 2019 version of Guice/Mixon/Corey Davis+1.07+LeSean McCoy or the value equivalent of him.

BS on partner of commish. If the guy is such a jack hole then he should be booted. But commish shouldn’t be playing God like that.
