completed trade - got a steal?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

completed trade - got a steal?

Postby iceman68 » Mon Jan 22, 2018 5:48 pm

I made an offer Coleman, Hogan, and '19 3rd for Devante Adams - which was rejected. Followed by Coleman, Hogan, and Eifert for Kelce. He countered with Hilton, CMC, and Benjamin Watson for Adams and Kelce. I couldnt believe it. Played it cool and accepted.

Did I make a good trade?

I like it for you but think it’s close. Definitely wouldn’t call it a steal. Surprised he countered though. Both of your offers were really bad.

Definitely not a steal. Could go either way. If I needed RB more than TE, I'd favor the Hilton CMC side.

wowzers. .3 points per carry, how does anyone in your league trade for running backs?

I think it's pretty even overall and simply depends on team makeup and needs. With .3 ppc and 1 ppr, CMC is a much better looking back than even a regular ppr league

Kind of my thoughts also! I would be curious in who scored more in this format last year between CMC and Kelce. Watson is irrelevant to me, and as much as I like Adams more than Hilton, Hilton is no slouch. I was a doubter in CMC, but after this year he definitely made a believer out of me.

I mean by my math, CMC would have scored 265.7 points last year in that format and Kelce would have scored 236.1. I don't know...what am I missing here?

I think in a normal league, I like it a lot because Adams > Hilton and Kelce > McCaffrey. However, I'm not sure how much 0.3 PPC changes McCaffrey's value. Regardless, I certainly don't think it's a bad trade.

I think it's more about positional advantage. In that format, Kelce still a top TE asset but there are probably many RBs that benefit from the .3 PPC, especially some of the sub 3 yard per carry guys that still received bulk of carries for their team.

CMC's value would actually be diminished in that setting, since he only averaged about 7 carries per game. There are probably a lot of RBs who CMC outscored in regular PPR leagues that would have outscored him in this setting. A guy like Lamar Miller who everyone hates probably outscored him last year with that scoring. So, yes, maybe he had more points than Kelce, but he's more like a mid level RB2 than a low-end RB1 in that league. I'd assume replacing CMC would be much easier than it would replacing the TE1.

Very good points...

Actually by my calculations, Lamar Miller would have had 264.9 points last year...so within a point of CMC...very interesting that the format actually hurts CMC.
