1.01 for 1.02 and a 2020 First rounder?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

1.01 for 1.02 and a 2020 First rounder?

Postby Griffey » Mon Jan 22, 2018 2:54 pm

I have 1.02, which is probably Guice. I have Fournette as it is and would love to have LF and Barkley for the next 5+ years and just focus on WRs for the next half decade. Would you make that trade if it's just a future 1st round pick? What if the kid wants a 2019 first rounder?

I personally think Barkley is worth it, thoughts?

I would easily trade either a '19 or '20 1st and the 1.02 for Barkley.

I don't think he would do it even if you offered the 2019 AND 2020 picks along with the 1.02. But yes, if you can get him to take either one of thoes picks to get Barkley, that is a no brainer.

I agree with everyone else that this probably isn't very close. However, with your team, I wouldn't be surprised if your 2019 and/or 2020 1st was the 1.01, in which case, you might regret trading away along with the 1.02 this year.

Final offer that he accepted is:

I give 1.02, a 2020 first roudner and a 2019 5th rounder

FOR

1.01.

I'm happy with it. LF and Barkley is awesome for years. Wentz at QB is great. Juju should at least be a a starter for me for a while. If I suck this year and have first pick in 2019, then I can get the best WR or trade back or whatever then I'd be shocked if I also ended up getting 1.01 in 2020. I think it's a risk worth taking if I believe in my team management between now and the 2020 draft.

Don't get me wrong, I think that's a steal and especially glad that you only had to give up the 2020 1st instead of 2019. Hopefully by then, your team will improve where that pick wouldn't be very early. Great trade.

I would snap accept! I made a somewhat similar deal last year moving out of the 1.6 up to the 1.3 and gave up pick 1.6 and my 18 1st (late) to snag Fournette. If Barkley is remotely close to what he is predicted to do, well done!
Too many to list...
