For me I am avoiding Dez because anyone who owns him is most likely looking for 1.08 range as stated above and I feel like I can get those points at a much cheaper cost. Plus once I acquire him I don't think you will ever get the chance to sell him for a profit. So if I can get his points from a cheaper option it doesn't ever make sense in my mind to try and trade for Dez. Now if the owner is fed up and will take a mid 2nd or something I would probably take that if I was a contender.

I got him yesterday for 2.05. Their offer, not mine.

It really all depends on the state of the team who owns him. Crappier the team, more motivated to sell and better price for you.

Consensus here is around a late first for a contender. Admittedly, I use the term "consensus" liberally, as Dez and Josh Gordon are the two most polarizing players on this forum and get a new thread every 3 days or so. Still, late first or a nice pile of seconds.

I do not think Dez is the problem.
However; with that said - the Cowboys are clearly geared toward a ball control offense which bodes poorly for a WR in fantasy and I do not see that changing any time soon.

I would not offer a 1st for him, personally.

I don’t really need Dez but I’m just trying to buy while his value is down. My offer would be 2019 1st and 2019 4th for dez and 2019 second.

Dez is only 29 so as a WR I feel he has another 3-4 years left in him. I think this year was a fluke and if Dallas gets a decent WR across from him and zeke plays the full season Dez can still put up 1000 yards and 10 TDs. A lot of his “drops” were also terrible passes, so with another year I’m hoping Dak gets better and they start off next year trying to get Dez involved early.

I think I’m ready to compete now so my thought process is to just collect some talent that’s risky but still high reward. This way if they hit again I can always get Something back for them.

I’m probably just being stubborn, but I’m most likely going to ride Dez into the sunset. Back in Sept. 2015 I paid Kevin White (1st round value at the time) and three 1sts for Dez and two 2nds. I thought I was buying low on an injured perennial stud, but I haven’t even come close to getting the kind of ROI I was expecting. I’d probably move him for a mid/late 1st as others have mentioned, but I think the rest of my league is even lower on Dez than I am. I’d rather just go down with the ship than sell him for a mid 2nd.
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties

Taxi: Willis, Z. White, M. Mims, T. Palmer

Hull Awaits
$450 cap, 60 contract years

QB: Lawrence $5/3, Richardson $5/5, Minshew $1/0, Jones $1/0, Heinicke $1/0, Tyrod $1/0
RB: Achane $4/4, Warren $2/4, Roschon $7/5, Dillon $4/1, Hubbard $2/1, Kelley $1/0
WR: Nuk $78/1, MT $25/1, M. Williams $1/0, JSN $21/5, Reed $4/5, Rice $4/5, M. Wilson $2/5
TE: Thomas $1/0, Hill $1/0, Parham $1/0

This is interesting (and prob deserves it's own thread). We have all been in a similar position with players where we are ready to sink with the ship. I guess if a player you like is sitting on the board at 2.04 and the guy with 2.05 makes you an offer would we put our stubbornness aside hoping to hit gold? I think I would be all over that at that point.

And how about the year before that? And the year before that year?

If you believe then go for it, but you are sadly going to be disappointed when he flops like he has the last 3 seasons. I just don't see the point in buying him now for that price. If you need Dez to compete next year, then you aren't ready to compete. And if you are ready without him, then why use a valuable asset now guaranteed to gain value just to take on all the risk?

If you are trying to compete, hold your assets until mid season when they are worth more and you have more info of who can help you.

Dez is washed. I would only add him for a late 2nd early third. But even then it would be difficult
