Keenan Allen trade

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Keenan Allen trade

Postby hjernazian » Sun Jan 21, 2018 1:53 am

Have a proposal for another owner on the table, and he mentioned he is likely to accept if another deal he's working on where he gets Kareem Hunt falls apart. I hate to post hypotheticals on here, and although this seems like one I assure you it is. This owner is very quick on the trigger and we've made numerous deals in the past very quickly. The other owner who owns Hunt, is quite possibly the most impossible to deal with in the league. So I think there is a really good chance of this going down, but I feel like I'm getting cold feet. Keep in mind the SALARY is huge in our league. I'd be paying out of pocket to roster K. Allen next year and would have to get creative the year after as it would significantly put me over the cap.

I GET: K. Allen ($38)
I GIVE: Marlon Mack $2, D. Njoku $2, C. Hogan $10, J. Conner $2, Pick 2.20

He needs young RB talent and cheap players, he's paying $81 for Hopkins, who costs almost twice as much as OBJ and Evans.

Also, if I did this deal, he agreed to take this one as well.
I GET: L. Miller ($48), 3.07
I GIVE: J. Nelson (41)

Thanks in advance.

I don't play salary leagues. What is your salary cap? Getting Keenan+Miller for Jordy for an increased cap of $30 seems good.

I would put the entire deal into 1 deal; not a fan of contingency handshake deals that leave open the door for a change of heart after deal 1 is completed.

Don't do salary leagues but to me if you can somehow afford it I think it looks great. Not a mack fan. Or jordy.

The salary portion is something you're going to have to decide on your own whether or not you want to take that on, but that's an extremely cheap price for Allen. The second offer isn't terrible, but you're just adding even more salary by making that move. So again, up to you if you want to deal with the hit.

I like the Allen deal but not the Miller deal, like I mentioned in the other thread.

Goddard, was hoping for your reply on this one. By my calculations - I will be fine this year and can take the salary on. But as far as the future, it would mean I would hopefully wait for Sammy and Cam to do very well and sell for a first or second rounder. No one is giving me past a 3rd for either currently, but would be my hope. Ultimately, a few of the big contracts would have to go (Jordy, Sammy, CJA, Cam), but not counting my cheaper contracts in Corey, Godwin, Engram, Cook, Brees, I would be paying Freeman, Hilton, Landry, K Allen roughly $130 of my 200 alocated, which I don’t think is that bad for the anchor of my team.

Hell And if I can’t, do you really see any problems in moving Allen for more than what I’m paying for him?

Thanks, and read your feedback on the other thread. Sorry if I’m repitious just things are really picking up before our Jan 30 cap deadline. Much appreciated man, and you’re right about your argument for Jordy > Miller.

Our cap is 200 total. We have the option to go over 1/3 years and we are on year 3 so I am eligible. I am currently at 268. For every dollar we go over we have to pay 2x in real cash. So currently without this trade and with paying Jordy, I’d be paying 200 in dues and 134 in penalties. Freeman, Jordy, Hilton, Landry, Cam, Sammy tie up nearly 160/200.

You definitely should be able to move Allen for much more than what you're paying for him.
