Melvin Gordon or Corey Davis

Postby bsp27 » Sat Jan 20, 2018 12:21 am

Got offered Davis straight up for Gordon. I am concerned about MG's perennial inefficiency and the presence of Ekeler stealing receptions.

You could really use a young WR but I'd target someone better than Davis. Not a terrible trade tho.

I'd take Davis but would ask for a 2nd round pick maybe added if i could. Davis should be great tho as I seen him make some very goos catches this season even in limited action.

I prefer Corey Davis here. I've seen enough of Gordon and it's uninspiring. Davis has big upside

I am shocked to see so many votes for Davis.

MG gets no love around here.

I agree with you. Gordon hasn't been a dud, and Davis still hasn't shown anything consistently (mainly because of injuries). Regardless of how good I think Davis will be, which is very good, I have to go with the proven player in Gordon.

I am pretty certain that I recall that many people were down on Gordon after a lacklustre rookie season (especially in comparison to Gurleys rookie year) and that there was a segment of the community that would only buy him for a 2nd (or less).
Please speak to clarion contrarion before considering the use of vetos..

Me too. While the efficiency hasn’t been very good, the fantasy numbers have been excellent the past couple of years thanks to the volume in both the running and passing game. Hard to trade a guy averaging over 19 ppg the last 2 seasons for a promising player that has yet to produce.

MEHlvin has been fine, but I have to think that the Chargers will realize at some point that a RB with his efficiency is very upgradable. If I was a Gordon owner, I would love what I've gotten so far, but at the same time be worried that the bubble could bust at any time. I've spoken very highly of Davis before, and think he's one of the best 'buys' of the off-season.

As a Tennessee fan it pains me to say this, but...

If you want inefficciency, look no further than Corey Davis! He also shares the concern of target shares that you expressed for MG...

I think Gordon's 'inefficiency' has more to do with the o-line than him most of the time, so in that regard Gordon usually gets knocked by the stat-box scouters a little too harshly.

As an owner of both it would be Gordon very easily for me right now but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Davis' value shot up over the next 12 months. He (and the other two rookie WRs) were very out of sight out of mind this year, and that is making all of them good buy-lows this off-season.

Voted Gordon here, but if you could get a piece added (late 1st to early 2nd value) I would take Davis. At this point it shouldn't be a straight up deal.
