Too Many WR's Not Enough RB's - Offseason Help!

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Too Many WR's Not Enough RB's - Offseason Help!

Postby PigeonBoys » Fri Jan 19, 2018 1:54 pm

I ended up trading Gio and Drake for 1.4 pick that leaves me pretty thin at RB, so looking for some suggestions on how to approach the offseason. I also have JuJu for 1.3 straight up on the table. My line of thinking right now is to keep JuJu (cuz he appears to be an awesome dynasty asset at 21), spend my 1.4 on an RB via rookie draft and use my 1.11 on a QB or another RB flier.

I have too many WR's at this point and would really like to unload some for RB talent, whether that means taking the aforementioned 1.3 for JuJu or unloading some other WR assets. I picked up JuJu off waivers early this year and now I'm thinking that was a game changer for this offseason since I now have so much depth at WR I have the ammo to do some damage trade-wise. Just peeps in my league are pretty reluctant to trade or ask way too much for RB assets, so I'm asking for some strategy help from more seasoned dynasty owners.

If this is for your team in signature I think you look decent at RB with LF and Howard and whoever you get at 1.4 but don't pigeonhole yourself into having to take an RB. If a stud WR emerges and falls to you at 1.4 just take him. Same thing at 1.11...unless there is a QB that blows you away there why take one? With Cousins you are fine at the QB position. The best, and most boring, advice you will get on this forum is just take the best player available.

Keep Juju. Draft an RB. Having LF and Howard is far from thin!

Just hold the pick until the draft, then shop the 1.04 around when it's your time to make a pick. Prob the easiest way to get a contributing RB, and you might be able to get a great deal if you catch someone that has the fever.

You already have 2 very good RBs. If you want another, I'd try to move the 1.04 for someone proven instead of drafting one. Maybe target someone like Gordon and add something on top if the pick to get it done.

As others have suggested, closer to your draft an asset like Thomas, Tate, or even Coleman packaged with that 1.04 might look attractive for someone in Gordon's range. I can understand wanted another RB. It is nice to have 3 in a start 2. I wouldn't worry about QB unless that is the absolute best player at 1.11. In a 1QB league, having Cousins is fine and I think Keenum might have played himself into at least an Alex Smith kind of starting roll somewhere for next year.

Take your time though. You don't have to rush into a deal. The only assets that must be moved at this point in the season are players you feel just had their best output and will decline. Good luck.
