Blockbuster trade thoughts

Postby hjernazian » Tue Jan 16, 2018 6:09 pm

Got offered Alshon Jeffrey ($24), Alex Collins ($10), 2.04 And 3.02 for Corey Davis ($4) and 2.05.

Leaning toward accepting. Helps both my WR and RB situation. What do I do? Corey seems unreadable but very much puts me in win-now mode which is where I am imo for next year.

Please provide a rationale for your stance. And sorry for blowing up the forum last 24 hours but my league is seeing a lot of traffic with the cap deadline approaching.

So basically Alshon + Collins for Davis. I think I'd rather keep Davis given the difference in salary.

I concur with Ditka based on salary - might have a different answer depending on how long the contracts were for.

So if I understand you correctly - Corey Davis will always cost $4? Then I am definitely keeping Corey Davis. I'd be clearing Nelson off the roster, not giving up young WRs on cheap contracts. And since you have Hilton and Landry it is not like Jeffrey is a need - seems more likely a move that would make your cap have issues down the road (if there is a flat cap and not one that increases).

More or less correct. There are small percentages raised based on performance annually, but nothing significant. We can go over cap once every 3 year and I’m planning on my overage being next year, hence Jordys salary. I hope to cut him after this coming year as I really see 1 top year left in him, and even that’s questionable. But you’re right - Corey at 4 is a steal and value in this league. I guess I’m just wondering if Corey actually balls out next year and how far off from Alshons performance he’ll be. I’m a big believer in Wentz and that offense and only see Alshon doing better moving forward. Then again, new coaching staff in TEN can mean wonders for Mariota and Davis. But I think you’re right - I’ll hold for now. Thought of a trio of Alshon Hilton and Jordy with Landry and Fitzgerald flexed sounds very enticing and gives me the strongest core in the league.

I'm pretty high on Alshon and think he helps you more than Davis at least for next year, but I agree I might keep Davis because of the contract.

Davis side only because of the contract but Jeffery is the better WR.

Thanks for the feedback - I'm likely passing unless I can get some high value for Jordy to clear space. I probably shouldn't have even considered this as young cheap players are highly valued in our league. Saw D.Hop go for a bag of peanuts the other day because his contract is $70+.
