OJ Howard Value Check

Solid rookie campaign. Trending towards even more playing time next season, regardless of Brate. Where do you guys see his worth in terms of picks/players? Thanks

I don't think he has lost value. He had a great year for a rookie TE and I believe Brate is a FA. I'd say 1.05.

If Brate ends up leaving via free agency which should happen i think Howard is set up for a monster campaign in 2018. He came on strong towards the end of the season and Winston loves targeting his TE especially in the redzone. As mentioned above probably right around 1.05 in value as far as picks.

I would agree, it'll be right behind the line of RB/WR prospects likely in the 6-10 range. Brate is a RFA so he's not guaranteed to leave. They could put a high tender on him to ensure he sticks around. I'd put the chances around 50/50 he leaves. That said, Howard could be a nice player to have in the coming years.

Value's good, not great, while Brate's there. I'd hold, but if Brate stays long-term on a reasonable contract, I'm out on both.

Everybody preaches patience with young TEs, but very few practice it.

Realistically he should be valued the same as he was last off-season, which for me falls somewhere in the tier two of this class (1.04-1.08 range depending on landing spots and ones belief in Howard).

With that said, he falls into that category of players where I wouldn't give an early-mid 1st for him, but I probably wouldn't trade him away for a mid-1st where I do own him. There is obvious risk and upside here, but I feel like the odds of him outright busting are pretty slim.
