Help me pick top 15

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Help me pick top 15

Postby jeaton6 » Mon Jan 15, 2018 6:59 am

15 Team keeper must cut/trade by day after Super Bowl. Can only roster max of 8 RBs, 8 WRs, 3 QB, 3 TE. 3 man taxi doesn’t count towards roster limit but can’tuse until after rosters expand to 25 after rookie draft. Premium for most positions (1.5 TE PPR) like PP carry and return yards (but WRs don’t really get bonuses) so guy like Samuel could be very valuable but on relative basis WRs who only catch the ball less valuable than in standard PPR.

I’ve tiered my players as follows which means I’d be looking to cut/trade one of Monty, Zay or Richardson but will have to be both due to maxing out at WR thus would have to select someone in the Martin tier. Finding it difficult to find any trade partners to make moves right now even at steep discounts.

7 - Newton, Luck, Hunt, Kamara, Tyreek Hill, Cooper, Corey Davis

2 - Doctson, Watkins

2 - Robby Anderson, McKinnon

2 - Samuel, Jordan Matthews

3 - Monty, Richardson, Zay

3 - Martin, Shaheen, Ravens

4 - Mike Davis, Ginn, Clay, Seals

Any adjustments I should make?

Is Monty, Ty Montgomery?

You should cut Doug Martin over young players (especially if they're WR). Unless you're able to trade Martin, there are a lot of fantasy owners who are delusional about that inconsistent midget.

And I'd tap into the Samuel/Matthews tier to package a few players. It sounds like Samuel isn't all that valuable in your format and if not, Matthews can't be either. He has regressed and I don't see the fire to improve from him. Maybe trade both for a similar player you like better, especially if Samuel still has RB eligibility.

Yes Ty Montgomery. I can only keep 8 WRs which is part of the problem.

Samuel is WR only but as such he gets bonuses for being a slash guy 0.5 per carry whereas RBs get 0.25 per carry and if Samuel ends up being PR/KR he gets same points for those yards as he would from rush/rec yards.

I don’t like Matthews at all but feel like he’s more valuable than some of these guys below him. Muscle hamster is not going to be kept.

Just refreshing cuts are tomorrow: 0 trades made in offseason so far. I must keep a TE so Shaheen is in my top 15 and I can only keep a max of 8 WRs. Zay is last in right now. Any other opinions?

7 - Newton, Luck, Hunt, Kamara, Tyreek Hill, Cooper, Corey Davis

2 - Doctson, Watkins

1 - McKinnon

2 - Samuel, Jordan Matthews

3 - Shaheen, Monty, Zay

4 - Martin, Robby Anderson, Ravens, Richardson

4 - Mike Davis, Ginn, Clay, Seals

I think based on your refreshed list above you are spot on. I think you should still try and move Ty Mont for a WR with more potential if possible. Dropping Baltimore is tough but the only other options to me are Mont or Matthews.

I'd rather keep Anderson than Zay Jones.

no way! Anderson just got in more trouble....Zay was dealing with an injury last season...he should be right next season
8 RBs, 8 WRs, 3 QB, 3 TE.

3QB Newton, Luck
3TE Shaheen
8WR Hill, Cooper, Davis, Doctson, Matthews, Zay, Samuel
8RB Hunt, Kamara, McKinnon, Martin
keep these players for sure....

do you have to keep openings on each position for rookie draft? so after rookie draft, still only 8WRs on your roster? if that is the case, i would try to package Matthews and Doctson for a RB...maybe someone like Duke, Drake, Collins
taxi squad for last year's rookies? then Samuel, Zay and Shaheen can be on that and not take a roster spot...

keep Robby if you have faith in him, i don't....seems likely that he will be suspended...you need to secure a better TE. i like shaheen, but i think he is a year away
team 1 -start QB RB 2WR TE 2RB/WR 1WR/TE
qbs=5pt tds wr/te=1 ppr rbs=.5ppr all get .25ppc

Ekeler, Hunt, Carson/Penny, DForeman, Mitchell, CPat, Kyren, Ford, KHarris

Gesicki, Engram, Hooper, Woods

I never saw the news on Anderson. That's a shame. I'm not a fan of Zay. Felt he was overhyped and the Bills have better WRs in KB and Matthews.

There is rookie taxi (3 man) but they come off every year. I will have to have 1 spot open to draft a rookie WR so if I keep 8 and want to draft 1 I will ultimately have to drop or trade before July rookie draft. No one is interested in trading even though 1 guy has Palmer amendola and scrub Ds. He could take some of thee players and they would be top 10 for him but no response. Thus no deals going to happen.
