Trade J. Williams for a WR

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trade J. Williams for a WR

Postby Kluivert » Sun Jan 14, 2018 1:34 pm

For team in signature. I believe I have good RBs, and I will get at least Barkley in the draft.

I am not 100% satisfied about my WRs, so I was thinking of targeting a WR with someone like J. Williams and maybe Keenum. Who should I target, or should I package something and go after a star WR?

I don't understand how your league works. If there's a qb/flex spot then scoring has to be different. Also, you have more than half of the picks in the first round. It's impossible to give you advice other than you should be able to have an unbeatable team if you sell half your picks, since your team is already extraordinarily young and filled with superstars. And why have Howard AND Engram, sitting both of those guys every week is a waste when you can sell one of them. Forget Jamaal Williams.

You don't need our advice with that team and those picks. Just draft RBs and WRs all over the 1st round and sit back and enjoy your championship. What kind of WR would you even be asking for in return for Jamaal Wiilliams? Jamison Crowder?

I mean with that team and those draft picks it would be tough to go wrong. Only thing I would maybe do is flip one of Dalvin/KHunt for a tier 1-2 WR just so I have more of my roster value tied to young WRs instead of RBs.

The only moves that would even benefit you are the 2 or 3-for-1 package deals that have you consolidating assets into a starting lineup full of top 5-10 positional studs. Aside from that, I would focus more of my time on making sure the league runs smoothly and doesn't fold because rosters like that are essentially an ATM card you get to use once a year to withdraw money for free:

QB: Jamies Winston
QB: Matt Ryan - Kirk Cousins - Mahomes
RB: Todd Gurley
RB: Saquon Barkley - Dalvin Cook
RB: Kareem Hunt - Derrius Guice - J. Williams
WR: Odell Beckham Jr
WR: Michael Thomas
WR: TY Hilton - Corey Davis
TE: Travis Kelce - OJ Howard - Evan Engram

Your team is stacked and you have the entire 1st round picks. You're not going to get much for Williams. You might for Keenum since it's SF, but I'd wait till after free agency and see where he ends up before moving him.

Have you considered instead buying Aaron Jones for the 2.02 or 2.03? As others have said, you're set up very nicely already, so why not lock down the GB backfield considering you have plenty of picks?

I wouldn't feel like I was locking down the GB backfield with a Williams/Jones combo, so I don't know how far out of my way I'd go to do that (I wouldn't want to pay a 1st-2nd of any kind for Jones, but a mid-late 3rd-4th would be of interest).

They could just as easily give a healthy TyMont an equal share of touches or draft/sign a feature back for once in hopes of it pushing the offense over the top.

I'm with ya. I think someone not currently on their roster will go for 270 carries and 1150 yards.
