2018 1.09 for Robert Woods?
Re: 2018 1.09 for Robert Woods?
Realize that valuation of players is as much emotional as it is logical and it's not exclusive to fantasy football. Everyone brings preconceived ideas and beliefs to a situation and even in light of opposing facts have a tendency to want to retain their belief. I'll pick 4 guys who are no doubt polarizing to a degree:
Kupp, Funchess, Woods and Fuller
If I had to guess I have them roughly in the order they would be ranked by most. I suspect most would say they would give a 1st for Kupp and Funchess but not for the other two. All of them are between 23 and 25 years of age. Woods was the best of them this season (ppg) at about 13.5 which ranked him #15 in the league among WRs. The other 3 were all about 12 ppg either just under or just over (fwiw, Dez Bryant was as well) and ranked in the 25-30 range.
I do agree that what happens with Watkins may influence an exact ranking for Woods but I have no problem valuing him as a late 1st round pick.

I'm not sure I'd go that far. Probably preference, but I bet a majority of Fournette owners would ship him for the 1.1, and most 1.1 owners would hold.Favrezilla wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2018 3:39 pmwhy would he do that....thats the kind of trade that gets vetod or people quit a league over loldarewood11 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2018 1:22 pm I have a guy in my league who wants to wait til after NFL draft but has offered LF and woods for my 1.05 1.07 and 2.05. So you'd take the pick? Assuming it's saquon, who's unproven at the next level and might fall into a bad "fantasy" situation over a guy who is in a great situation and produced quite well at the NFL level? Give me LF all day...Ghosted wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2018 4:55 pmI'm not sure I'd go that far. Re: 2018 1.09 for Robert Woods?
Just out of curiosity, what did you think of Fournette's landing spot before the season? Or Gurley's? Or Cook's?Historically, it hasn't really mattered for elite RB prospects, anyway. Fournette averaged 3.9 ypc over 260+ carries in a volume dependent season. Not saying he wasn't productive, but it's not hard to imagine Barkley having AT LEAST as good of a season as that, plus he's going to provide a lot more value to a passing game. Hes going to get a ton of volume as a top 5 pick, just as the others before him have. Combine that with the hype around him, and he's almost assured to eclipse Fournette's value by a decent margin next year. And I haven't even touched on his injury concerns. I would 100% ship him for the 1.1 personally. Barkley is extremely safe no matter what he does for the most part.Favrezilla wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2018 5:26 pmSo you'd take the pick? Re: 2018 1.09 for Robert Woods?
I agree. Don't care how amazing any rookie is supposed to be, there will always be some existing NFL players that should be valued higher. There are several such RBs and Fournette is one of them.

Re: 2018 1.09 for Robert Woods?
So much for Sammy playing elsewhere. Rams expected to tag him AND he’s happy playing there. I don’t get it... they’ll have to use little over half of their 30 mil in cap space meaning they’ll have to let go of a several assets. I mean, they did give up a CB and a second for him, so maybe want to give it another offseason with Goff. And to answer your question - no I don’t do that deal. I’d rather have the pick. Especially with Gurley, Sammy and Kupp competing for targets next year, and a likely regresssion with Goff (just my two cents).

Re: 2018 1.09 for Robert Woods?
It would depend on my team's needs. I'd love having a piece of the Ram's offense. He's looked really, really good. I'd have no problem making the deal if my RB's were fine and needed WR help.

This is exactly why I will never play in a league that allows vetoes. Fournette > 1.01 is your opinion. I would also prefer the Fournette + Woods side of that deal, but I don't think it's bad at all.Favrezilla wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2018 3:39 pmwhy would he do that....thats the kind of trade that gets vetod or people quit a league over loldarewood11 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2018 1:22 pm I have a guy in my league who wants to wait til after NFL draft but has offered LF and woods for my 1.05 1.07 and 2.05. Back on topic: based on this thread, I need to go buy Woods where I can. I think the LAR offense is due for regression, but I'm a big believer in Sean McVay. I think Woods will be a solid WR2 for the next 3-4 years.

Re: 2018 1.09 for Robert Woods?
No sorry the team isn't listed. I have a few too many to list haha. RBs are looking good with Gurley and Henry right now, WRs are shored up with Cooks/AB/Baldwin but this is mostly to be asked in a vacuum. I just really wanted to see where people see him and it's clear that there's a large standard deviation. In some mocks I've been helping with on dynasty football factory his ADP is ~60s.BigBawseRoss wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2018 11:19 am if this is for team 1 you need the pick more than you need woods. aim for rb
Re: 2018 1.09 for Robert Woods?
I think it's fair either way. Robert Woods did show some good stuff during the season I just don't know how long he'll be able to keep that up. The Rams have a pretty good offense moving forward and if you still part of it I don't see why to trade him. On the other hand I've drafted receivers with later pics than that who turned out to be pretty damn good so do your research for the draft and then that pic won't be that bad
