Funchess/Eifert for Dez/Jonnu

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Funchess/Eifert for Dez/Jonnu

Postby Ragnar64 » Fri Jan 05, 2018 3:57 pm

12 team 1.0 PPR with a TE bonus of 1.5 PPR.
Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 2 Flex, 1 TE, 1 DST, 1 K.

I have a fairly strong team, took 3rd, despite losing OBJ, Wentz, Antonio, Eifert. My major weakness is TE. I had several weeks with very low points, including a couple goose eggs.

I have an active offer of my Funchess and Eifert for his Dez Bryant and Jonnu Smith.

I think Funchess and Dez are fairly equal value. Dez is interesting as a potential win-now 3rd WR/Flex. Eifert, if healthy, can be a top 5 guy. But his injuries.... Jonnu is young, has promise, but behind Delanie Walker.

My other TEs at this point are Stephen Anderson, Julius Thomas, Tyler Higbee, Eifert.

Pretty fair offer. I’d take the Dez side

This badly hurts your win-now prospects at TE, but helps them at WR. I think I'd make the move then try to trade for another TE who may produce more than what you're left with until Walker is gone. I like Jonnu long-term, but I still think he has a minor role this season.

Funchess is the best player in this deal at this point.

As someone who owns the two best pieces in this deal, I agree. The downgrade from Funch to Dez is bigger than the upgrade from Eifert to Smith. I’d pass.
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties

🦬PRIME🦬
QB: Hurts, Howell
RB: Mixon, Jones, Sanders, Dobbins, Akers, Roschon, Dowdle, Kelley
WR: Nuk, Godwin, Cooper, Lockett, Flowers, Chark, Collins, Hollins, Tillman, Tolbert
TE: Hockenson, Chig, Trautman
Taxi: Willis, Z. White, M. Mims, T. Palmer

Hull Awaits
$450 cap, 60 contract years

QB: Lawrence $5/3, Richardson $5/5, Minshew $1/0, Jones $1/0, Heinicke $1/0, Tyrod $1/0
RB: Achane $4/4, Warren $2/4, Roschon $7/5, Dillon $4/1, Hubbard $2/1, Kelley $1/0
WR: Nuk $78/1, MT $25/1, M. Williams $1/0, JSN $21/5, Reed $4/5, Rice $4/5, M. Wilson $2/5
TE: Thomas $1/0, Hill $1/0, Parham $1/0

Dez > Funchess

The rest of the pieces don't carry any real value.

Ehh...maybe when Dez had Romo throwing to him and Funchess was still in college 3-4 years ago. Now? I'll take Funchess over the shell of Dez.

The one league that I actually own Funchess, I also have Eifert. That said, not knowing where Dez ends up (assuming he's cut post-draft like many rumors are saying), I'd take Funchess/Eifert side. That's the side I'd take if Dez remains in Dallas as well. This even with the risk of the Panthers taking somebody high in the draft hurting Funchess' value.

I like Jonnu but he's a couple years out still with the perennially-underrated Walker in front of him. Eifert will probably be on IR by Week 4 or something, but he has huge bounceback upside if he makes it through a few healthy games (look to sell him then instead).

Wouldn't really affect his value to me. 1st year WR isn't going to eat into Funchess' production, not any in this class, at least IMO. Funchess is a UFA after this year, so it's not like anything is certain after this year with his situation anyway.

I don't think that it would hurt his production either. I was talking more to his perceived value. Good point about his free agency status.

The Dez drama will shake out. I like the Dez side on this deal too.

I would take Funchess over Dez and Smith. Eifert would be a throw in for me.
