Mixon and Thielen for the #1

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

My valuation of the pieces would be 1.01 > Thielen > Mixon. It's pretty even, just depending on whether you favor the bird-in-the-hand approach.
To be fair, same could be said for Corey Davis and even Coleman from a year ago...a guy you defended a lot during the off-season. So I don't see why Mixon's value would take a hit when you yourself said Coleman's shouldn't have a year ago.
I don't disagree. But I also never had Mixon rated as highly as some did either. I favored both CMC and Cook with Mixon being no better than 1.04-1.05 which is why I said it depends on your view of Mixon. I was hoping to see this season what some (like yourself) really liked about him and I didn't see it. Of all the rookie RBs, he was one of the more disappointing this season. I still think he has plenty of upside.
That's fair. But I'd argue he showed fairly well considering the horrible situation he was in. Most, including myself, never expected huge numbers this year and said it would take a year or two. Fortunately (or unfortunately for Mixon), there were several rookie RBs that produced well this year, so if you had a down year, you were looked at as a bust. I think we're all too quick to make judgments on rookies after one year.

This is a huge underpay for 1.1. No one is taking that deal. All of you saying otherwise either don’t have the 1.1 or don’t value picks, certainly not the 1.1 this year. Gio has looked better than mixon for most of this year and there are no guarantees he will be the workhorse next year (Gio with 60 fewer touches, same TDs and equivalent yardage, 4/5 games at 5 YPC or more when double digit carries (only 2/8 for Mixon—0 between 3.5-5 YPC). Signed for 3 more years. Looks like a timeshare to me again.

I'd much rather have Mixon and Thielen. This is why it's smarter to go after a guy like Mixon now - who has owners who might be down on him - rather than give up a ransom for the 1.01.

This is the kind of deal where Mixon and Thielen is the better side of the deal, but the Barkley hype is so out of control the 1.1 owner would probably turn it down if you offered

As an owner of the 1.01, I would not accept it. I fall on the side that thinks Mixon is overrated. He's been mediocre all year with 3 5 ypa. All he needs to do is have one more mediocre year or beat one more girlfriend and his career will be done. If owned any part of him I would sell him now while everyone still thinks he has any value.

Also both those guys could blow out their knee at a bowl game, combine or pro day. You know where Mixon is and he has produced with a terrible line and offense in flux.
I see this from people all of the time, and I just don't understand it. When has this really mattered with elite RB prospects? I understand that elite is a subjective term, so I'm more so speaking to Barkley. I get that it can accentuate one's value or upside, but it shouldn't be a concern, to me.
