From Champs to Cellar in 2 years

Guys,

Need some help deciding a direction for my team. I won the championship 2 years ago and went 3-10 this year.

PPR - 1QB/2RB/3WR/1TE/2Flex
QB: Carr, Trubisky
RB: LF, Kamara, Mack, Ivory, Dixon, Ajones, McGuire
WR: Watkins, ARob, Parker, MWilliams, Shepard, KWright, Lockett, JMatt, Treadwell, JBrown, Perriman, Marshall
TE: Ebron, ASJ, Burton

I own picks 1.03, 1.07, 1.09, and 2.09 this year. I obviously need another stud RB and have discussed swapping Watkins for Mixon. I’m wondering if I should stand pat and just go all-in at RB on this draft. I have a good corps of young WRs but I lack that stud that is needed to win games weekly. Any thoughts?

I'd strongly consider exploring what wrs those 1st rd picks could get you. I'd look to buy low asap on diggs/Hilton with 9. Try for landry/diggs/Hilton with 7. Then look for an elite wr with 3.

You can get deals done if you make your deals while the season is fresh in everyone's mind. The longer you wait....these prices aren't likely to be there.

I would not worry about rb or qb. You aren't going anywhere until you have wrs in place. Carr is fine.

bleep happens. If you own 3 picks you clearly moved some of the pieces that helped you win it all two years ago

You have two young good looking RBs and 3 1sts. I would say you need WR improvement more than RB. See if you can bundle Watkins and Parker for an upgrade that actually produces (they certainly have their believers in every league) and then draft at least 1 WR with a 1st. Maybe 2 if you get an RB with that 1.3

Also pray Carr turns it around or bears give Trub someone to throw to besides a 5th round rookie runningback

I do like Sloth's advice of buying so bounceback WRs with those later 1sts. I think Diggs is a prime condidate to come back next season. Teams haven't adjusted to Thielen yet (not a clue why, he deserves coverage respect) and when they do Case or Teddy should smartly be able to balance it back to Diggs more and more

if you want to go "all in on rb's" with your picks....i would sell lenny and kamara for the best wr that you can get.

I would look at Best available at the picks, I think you need 1 rb (flex) and 2 WR. You could kick the tires on some WR that are under performing this season

I think you need a lot more help at WR than you do at RB.

I don't think this is a bad team at all. Biggest need is obviously TE where you have basically no one you can trust to start.

Some good advice here. Thanks guys.

My lineup looks a lot different than it did at the beginning of the year. My team was at the point of needing a change so I traded away Brees, McCoy, Josh Gordon, Doug Martin, Crowell, Duke Johnson, Cobb, and Rudolph. I have a lot of good prospects at WR but no studs. The problem I have is the prospects I spent mid-high 1sts (Parker,MWill, Treadwell, Perriman) have not lived up to billing. I think I am going to shop Sammy pretty hard while he still has a bit of value. I’ve targeted Mixon and MBryant for Sammy and 1.09, with my 1.03 I would take Ridley as I’m fairly confident Barkley and Guice will go 1 & 2.

Who are some good by-low options at WR that I could target? TY, Evans, Cooper?

As for the TE, Ebron and ASJ are serviceable. I’ve targeted Ertz but owner wants too much for him. I may try to get Olsen for cheap this offseason.

In what world are Landry Diggs or Hilton going for a late 1st?!

What? You have 2 stud RBs. You desperately need WRs, not RBs. Infact your Wrs are so bad I would sell the RBs for WRs and start from scratch.

I agree with others. Color up at WR first, see if you can hold that 1.03 in the process and keep drafting.
