Potential trade for multiple players and picks

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Potential trade for multiple players and picks

Postby NFL123 » Sat Dec 16, 2017 12:10 pm

A possible deal here that I have been offered, which side is better?

Give: Brees and Engram
Get: Ajayi, mid-late 1st and 2nd, Brandon Marshall

Engram would be a huge loss but I really like Ajayi's prospects and his value could rocket in the closing stages of the season with Wentz out and the need for the Eagles to rely on the run game. Of course it's difficult to get a quality TE but guys like Njoku and Howard may be acquired for an early 2nd if needs be.

Brees is clearly on the way down and probably at best his value is now mid 2nd. I have Luck coming back for next year so he will be my starter, injuries permitting.

My season is over, so losing Brees as my starter for rest of season doesn't matter.

Marshall would just be a throw in but could well help at some point next year or an extra chip for me to use in trades in the off season.

Would really like to hear your opinions, thanks guys!

I would do that. Brees has been phased out of the offense enough that hes not a super stud anymore. Engram is a loss but the mid first covers that and u get what 2nd for brees. I'm not a Marshall fan at all

I like the Ajayi side. He and Engram are similar value in my eyes (early First) so the picks definitely outweigh Brees.

Maybe I'm weird, but I like the Engram side. Engram is pretty hard to replace, and you don't have another great option at TE, but you're good at RB. If you want to move Engram for something, is there an owner willing to part with WR stocks? I'd think somebody would for Engram.

Just my two cents
Just watch it

I agree with this; here's something I posted on the NY Giants blog about Engram discussing rookie years of some TEs. Look at his rookie numbers on a crap team with terrible coaching and no running game or OL.

Only TE to beat him in TDs is Gronk, who went 14-2 and had a in-his-prime Brady chucking it to him. I’d settle for Gronk/Kelce, just saying.

Engram: 55/623/6 100 Targets Team Record: 2-11 Coach: Ben McAdoo, king of 11 personnel. QB: Eil

Ertz: 36/469/4 57 Targets 10-6 Chip Kelly/ Vick/Foles
Graham 31/356/5 44 Targets 11-5 Sean Payton/Breezy
Kelce: 67/862/5 87 Targets 9-7 Andy Reid/Smith
Gronk: 42/456/10 59 Targets 14-2 Bill Belichick/Brady
E. Ebron: 25/248/1 (Picked one spot ahead of Odell Beckham Jr.) - Stafford

Other rookies from THIS year:
Njoku 29/355/4
Howard 25/402/5

This is a great point, but would Engram's stats take a significant hit if Odell wasn't injured this season?

I actually think engram will be safe next year as Odell will demand a ton of eyes
