Diggs Vs Goff

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Diggs Vs Goff

Postby cptjonesb » Thu Dec 14, 2017 11:48 am

Have a trade question for the group. Jared Goff for Stefon Diggs straight up in a superflex league. Who you got? My take is Goff is worth more than Diggs in this format, but just want to check my bearing.

It's probably close. I am a little low on Diggs since Thielen has become the #1 WR in MIN. I think I would take Goff over Diggs.

I'll give the edge to Goff in a superflex. You'd have to be super high on Diggs' potential that this point to take him over a young QB with a pulse but there are plenty of believers out there.

I would have to lean Goff. I have Diggs and am not happy about his injuries that he seems to always have every year. Goff is in a high powered offense and to be able to start him alongside your other QB whoever that is would be a nice piece to have. Plenty of WR's out there that have or will contribute just as much as Diggs has and will.

He's not only got a good season under his belt in a growing offense, he's got elite draft pedigree of the sort that gets people fired if he doesn't pan out. In other words, his arrow is pointing up, his offense's arrow is pointing up, and his leash should be very long regardless.

I worry about Goff AND Diggs longterm. Diggs’ issue is simple. He hasn’t been able to stay healthy. With Goff, I worry about the style of offense they run. And what I mean by that is he doesn’t audible at all on his own. They get to the line early, McVay looks over the defense and calls the audibles to him. It doesn’t say good things about Goff’s ability to recognize and diagnose defensive looks. It’s still early and he has time but it’s a little worrisome to me.

Having said that, if I had to choose, I’d choose Goff in a Superflex. Goff can learn how to read defenses. Diggs can’t learn how to stay healthy. I see it as a much smaller risk to acquire Goff.
