Deal away OBJ for rebuilding team?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Deal away OBJ for rebuilding team?

Postby Bot101 » Sat Dec 09, 2017 5:47 pm

Team in sig, 10 man, 1/2 ppr. Was talking to one of the owners in my league and we briefly talked about trading my OBJ for Cooper and Tyreek Hill. Is that a good deal for my team? If not would taking out Cooper for Keenan Allen be better? Trade deadline is passed till the season is over but want to see if this is worth pursuing. Thanks as always!

(Starting requirements qb/rb/rb/wr/wr/wr/te/flx/flx/def)

Keep OBJ- he is who you want in a rebuild or not. Your team has a lot of potential.. go with it.

I think in this scenario you keep OBJ and rebuild around him. You have a good core of WR's and ok/decent running backs but with the 1.01 and 1.02 you can get Barkley and Guice and you will be set with some good young players at all the skill positions. Depending on your league and how they value QB's, you could go get a better QB fairly cheap, look for a team with a lot of QB depth and see what you can get. I would target; Stafford, Winston, or Mariota, all of their values are lower right now and you can get them for a fair price. Your team is in fine shape.

Instead of Hill and Cooper look at Cooper and Allen for OBJ. That would be closer in value.

Thanks for all the responses guys. I am not the best at gauging OBJs value and wanted to kick the tires and see if any of these players are worth dealing him. I was leaning away from doing it to begin with. Interesting, hadnt thought of Allen/Cooper before.

The only QB worth grabbing on the wire is Dalton. Ive tried trading for several QBs but they arw being hoarded like crazy. Which makes little sense given this is a 1 qb league with 4 pts per passing TD scoring format.

the only thing trading a guy like OBJ for the "I still don't understand why people still like this guy" Cooper does is ensure you will be drafting in a much higher slot for years to come.

I like Allen and Hill a lot more than Cooper - but even those two are a bit too low. You're selling OBJ mid-injury, hasn't played in months, QB situation and coaching staff is unsettled. Why now?

Why not wait until he's back in the offseason program, the Giants have a new shiny QB and coaching staff, and the hype train has left the station again?

Cooper should not be a main piece in moving OBJ.

Yeah, I was considering Keenan Allen as the main piece and Cooper or Hill as the throw in. But like I said, it was a kick the tires type of talk. That owner just got bounced from the playoffs and quit the group chat like a man-baby. Wont be hearing from him in awhile while he works through his sensitive feelings.

In a 10 team league, I'd keep OBJ. You have some solid WRs behind him so you shouldn't be "blowing it up." Like Weber27 said, once you have Barkley and Guice, you'll be have a legit stable of RB and WR.

i would keep OBJ...your team is more in need of a RB than a couple more WRs...i actually like your WRs....
team 1 -start QB RB 2WR TE 2RB/WR 1WR/TE
qbs=5pt tds wr/te=1 ppr rbs=.5ppr all get .25ppc
Watson, Brady, Mills
Ekeler, Hunt, Carson/Penny, DForeman, Mitchell, CPat, Kyren, Ford, KHarris
Cooper, sutton, Chase, Shepard, Atwell, Schwartz, Wan'Dale, Austin III
Gesicki, Engram, Hooper, Woods
team 2 -start QB 2RB 3WR TE 2Flex K D
Cousins, Stafford
DH JT, Ekeler, Kylin Hill, Herbert, KHarris, Chandler
Hopkins, Diggs, Adams, Godwin, McLaurin, Callaway, DPJ, Robby Anderson, Schwartz, Pierce, Wan'Dale, Doubs
Kelce, Andrews, Jacob Harris
