Speculation on some 2018 FAs

Postby NickersonC » Sat Dec 09, 2017 7:06 am

Just wondering what some public thoughts are on a few players that are set to ink some new deals next season, some on my team but not all. Please chime in with your thoughts on as many as you'd like. Next to each player is what I think may happen based off of nothing really.

Thomas Rawls - Probably new team, too many young mouths to feed
Jerick McKinnon - New team, especially with Cook and the recent success of Murray
Andre Ellington - New team? Probably will look for a bigger role with AP and DJJ around?
Donte Moncrief - Probably stick around
Jeremy Hill - New team?
Marqise Lee - I'm guessing will stick around
Tyrell Williams - RFA, probably will stay in LA
Willie Snead - RFA, no idea
10-man, 25-spot + 1 IR, 20-keep, standard IDP PPR
QB - C. Wentz, K. Cousins, B. Mayfield
RB - L. Bell, L. McCoy, J. Ajayi, J. McKinnon, A. Ekeler, T. Cohen, C. Ivory, L. Murray, C. Edmonds
WR - J. Jones, A. Thielen, B. Cooks, D. Bryant, M. Crabtree, K. Golladay, G. Allison, A. Callaway
TE - J. Reed, J. Doyle, C. Brate,
IDP - T. Mathieu, G. Atkins, K. Alonso

Rawls is a 2 down back who I don't think is good. I love how hard he runs but he doesn't get anywhere doing it.
McKinnon should have a solid pass catching role wherever he lands. I have been very impressed by him this season.
Ellington is with Houston now and I doubt he holds value other than an occasional 3-5 catch game.
Moncrief is having a terrible year but I still believe in his talent. Needs to land with a good QB to regain value.
Hill is another 2 down back who I don't think is good. Doubt there is anywhere he could go that would give him value.
Lee has been great the last 2 seasons and should be a solid WR2/3 wherever he lands.
Tyrell probably stays in LA like the OP said so don't see his value changing much. I hope he changes teams so he can regain some value.
Snead barely plays anymore for NO so I doubt they bring him back. Maybe a change of scenery helps him regain value.

what about jordan mathews? Looked good as a slot receiver for 3/4 years. Could see a wr needy team signing him to a 1 year prove it contract

Moncrief is a HUGE buy low in my opinion. Think most are giving up on him and if he stays with the Colts and Luck returns next year he will be solid IMO.

Lee is the only guy I'd have interest in, and only if Arob doesn't stay in Jax.

Or if Lee leaves. I'm hoping both of them head somewhere else (unlikely)

I'm crossing my fingers for Chicago/San fran/Arizona of buffalo if they get a QB this off season/wherever cousins goes

TD machine with Luck
Picked him up off waivers a few weeks ago. He should be really solid next year at a minimum with a healthy Luck. Considering our league can start 5 WR, really surprised me he was dropped.

WR: DeAndre Hopkins, Michael Thomas, Adam Thielen, Will Fuller, Darius Slayton, Brandon Aiyuk, Keelan Cole,

This. Hill/Rawls/Ellington all carry little value at this point as their overall talent is lacking.

I'd have decent interest in McKinnon given landing spot. Good pass catcher who can definitely make some plays

Hill can have value. The idea that he's sucked since his rookie year is wrong. He hasn't been great, but he did score touchdowns. Lots of them, until getting mothballed this year. He could have value as a depth piece, wouldn't be surprised if he ran for 500 yards and scored 6-8 TDs.

Based on actual production I'm holding or adding T Williams and Lee. Lee has produced this year as the #1 with poor qb play, his issue his entire career has been injuries. Williams had a quality year last year with Allen out and has recently played better as of late with Allen busting out. These two in their current situation or elsewhere could produce on a more consistent basis.

While I think Moncrief can be classified as a "buy low" at some point the production has to be there. We're nearing the end of his 4th year in the league and he's been a perennial disappointment. He's never come close to the lofty expectations for him. Even during this past off season he was still trading for middle 1st round picks, which is borderline insanity. At the most, he should not be commanding anything more than a late 2nd round pick.

Lee, Hill and Williams are the 3 here that would intrigue me the most and their value will depend on their "new" situation come next season.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.
