Which RB Stash?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Which RB Stash?

Postby briank » Wed Dec 06, 2017 10:23 am

I'm considering 3 RB to stash. This is for the second team in my sig.

Spencer Ware: I own Hunt, so I'd be picking him up as a potential handcuff. I'm not really sure about his status for next year. He appears to be signed through next year, but is he a potential cut?

Joe Williams: The hype in the offseason got out of hand. He seems to be built like a 3rd down back, but without the skillset. He's small, isn't a great pass catcher, or blocker. I just don't get it, but everyone seems to love him.

Jonathan Williams: He seems like a knuckle head, but he might be the most talented of the 3 and is in a good spot with the Saints. There is a chance Ingram is gone next year.

Who should I stash?

I'd rather take a shot at Joe Williams and his upside. Ware will be nothing more than a handcuff and wasn't all that good to begin with.

Joe Williams is who I would grab, I'm a Hunt owner, and have Joe Williams Rostered over Ware, who is on waivers.

Ware averaged over 4.3 YPC as a 14 game starter last year after his breakout 2015. He may not have been the RB 1 we hoped for but he's far from talentless. I think we're also seeing that Hunt has worn down or been figured out. I'd take Ware easily out of these 3 based on talent and proven production. Opportunity is most likely in his favor too when compared to Joe Williams.

X2. Clearer path to playing time. Even if backup, he is a RB2 with RB1 upside if hunt were to go down.

as a Hunt owner suffering through his mid-season collapse, I don't see it as a given that he can hold off Ware next year.
