Doctson for late 1st

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Doctson for late 1st

Postby Tyrober » Fri Dec 01, 2017 11:24 am

12 team ppr superflex

Just bought Doctson for my late 1st. The pick is currently the 1.11 but things can still change. We must start 3 WRs and I am having a hard time coming up with a startable 3 with Benjamin, Matthews, Pryor, Garcon, Hurns all being out or a non factor. Not sure what to expect of Gordon right now but he was basically my WR3 before the trade. I probably overpaid but tested the waters and couldn't find many takers for 1st that people know will be late. Wasn't wild about it but feel like Doctson has some solid potential but still unsure about it. Solid move or no?

Brady
Carr
Goff

Zeke
Duke
Blount
McKinnon
Lewis

Adams
Crowder
KB
Garcon
JGordon
JMatthews
Pryor
Hurns

Gronk
Doyle

I like it, was pretty high on him coming out and Cousins seems to love him in the red zone

He's worth that. He's trending up and is a huge red zone target.

I think a late 1st is good value for Doctson. I can't see anyone trading him for a 2nd, so a late1st would be the least an owner would most likely accept.

Good value. Struggles with drops, but he is a massive target and certainly trending up. Plus - he was a top 4 rookie pick last year!

I like Doctson, but I probably would've kept the pick here. There's a little uncertainty as to whether Cousins will still be there in 2018, and the possibility of rookie QBs drafted in the 1st generally bump up the value of late 1sts in superflex. Overall I think it's a fair trade though.

I think Doctson will outperform whoever gets drafted at 1.11 next year. Good deal.

I'd take the pick.

How does that team have the second best record?

I'v won a lot of close matchups. Team isn't amazing by any means but Brady+Goff have been top 10 guys this year. Zeke was doing his usual think before he got suspended but Duke and McKinnon have been solid. WRs arent special outside of Adams though. I didn't mention it on the OP since it was not relevant but its also TE premium and Gronk and Doyle have had solid years. Team certainly isn't anything to brag about but feel like its solid.

Looked at it this way as well. Didn't get a steal by any means but feel like Doctson has some decent potential since this is basically his rookie year.

i like moves like this where you basically pay what he was originally drafted for and you dont have the grief of waiting on development. made very similar moves for Allen robinson and Keenan allen before they broke out
team 1
12 team, 1 pt for 4 rec, 0.1 per rush
1qb, 3 rb, 4 wr, te, k, 4 idp
Dak , Herbert
Achane, Breece Hall, KW3Kyren,Ford, Miller, Spiller, z evans, singletary
J Jefferson, Diggs, DK, D Smith Puka, C Watson, E Moore
Njoku , HH, Engram

2024 picks
1,3,4,5,5,6,7 (all late mostly)

team 2
12 team .5ppr
qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, te, flx,flx,
Fields, Dak
Ford,Mixon, Javonte, Mostert, Chubb, Spears
Hopkins, Evans, g Wilson Mingo, shaheed, Jamo
Kelce,McBride, Chig,

1,2,3,3,5

team 3
14 team sf, even scoring idp to offense (rb scores highly too)
Josh Allen, A Rich, Foles, Rudolph
Bijan, Charbs, Spears, Ebner
J Williams, G Wilson, C Watson, Flowers, J Addison, Tillman
Kincaid, Kolar, Ruckert, Fergeson

Kenny Clark, josh allen, jaelen phillips, felix a-u and a bunch of fluff and rookie fliers at idp

It's a good move, makes a lot of sense and he should be the Redskins WR1 next season. Yet I am still not convinced by him, even although it's a definite trade to take a risk on, I think it's probably because I have been burned by the WRs in that class, mainly Treadwell but Doctson is much better than him.
