Trading for Theilan...wise, foolish, indifferent

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Counter with Coleman and Njoku if you think this gives you a realistic chance to win this year. If not pass.

Thanks guys. Wow...lots of great feedback. I’m torn because I think the trade would make me better, but I don’t know that I have enough ammunition to go at the number one and two teams for the championship. I know anything can happen, but I’m not getting the production I had hoped from many of my guys. I’m going to try to swap Njoku instead of Engram and see what he says. I have Ertz, Engram, and Njoku at te.

I would never trade Thielen for Engram. I would have to get both to sell Thielen. If I was competing I am not sure I would sell Thielen for that. Top 5 WR this year plus had great finish last year. To me that becomes a hold unless blown away to sell him. Engram might now be in QB purgatory. Coleman has shown flashes but we only hope he puts up numbers that Thielen is putting up.

Has no interest in Njoku. Stated he thinks he’s a bum.

i love Thielen, but i think this may be an overpay as well...if you can get another piece with thielen, then i would consider it
team 1 -start QB RB 2WR TE 2RB/WR 1WR/TE
qbs=5pt tds wr/te=1 ppr rbs=.5ppr all get .25ppc
Watson, Brady, Mills
Ekeler, Hunt, Carson/Penny, DForeman, Mitchell, CPat, Kyren, Ford, KHarris
Cooper, sutton, Chase, Shepard, Atwell, Schwartz, Wan'Dale, Austin III
Gesicki, Engram, Hooper, Woods
team 2 -start QB 2RB 3WR TE 2Flex K D
Cousins, Stafford
DH JT, Ekeler, Kylin Hill, Herbert, KHarris, Chandler
Hopkins, Diggs, Adams, Godwin, McLaurin, Callaway, DPJ, Robby Anderson, Schwartz, Pierce, Wan'Dale, Doubs
Kelce, Andrews, Jacob Harris

It really comes down to trading for NOW production or keeping upside.

Sure Coleman has "upside" but find me the WR who was hurt more or less his entire first 3 years in the league and turned into a star. I will wait for someone to show me all the successes of those kinds of guys. The list of perrimans, colemans, kevin whites, Devante parkers... WRs who are oft injured and never amount to anything is much greater.

If you are going for it all get thielen if not it will be frustrating when coleman sits on your bench as depth or the IR.

For better or worse ended up making the trade. He threw the pick in and yeldon. It pained me to trade Engram, but Thielen makes me a much stronger competitor this season. I’m in the playoffs and have a better chance. I still have Ertz and Njoku and maybe I can spin Yeldon off to someone if he goes to another team. I tend to be very reserved, so I’m hoping this aggressive of a trade doesn’t work out badly. Who knows. Thanks for all the advice.

I think it is a an overpay (by a lot). Keep in mind a 1st round pick is sitting on the bench and the reason he is not already playing is "he needs to practice better" by the coach. So, what happens next year IF Treadwell "practices" better?

either way, think you giving up to much...unless that piece gets you that championship.

If Treadwell practices better, he'll be a better backup WR to Theilen then he is now. Theilen's success has nothing to do with Treadwell.
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...
