OBJ vs Alshon/Diggs+

Postby Peteey84 » Thu Nov 23, 2017 5:57 am

I’ve been offered OBJ + late 2nd for my Diggs/Alshon/1st (top 4).
Is this too much to give up for Beckham?

I think too much. 2/3 of the pieces should be enough imo.

OBJ. Diggs is great, but has major injury risk. Alshon is aging and also a major injury risk. The pick is a dart throw.

The first makes it close to even. You’re in a 10 team league, so assuming you don’t need Alshon for the fantasy playoffs I’d say the value is on the OBJ side, but with a borderline stud and depth being moved on your side I’d understand wanting to reject this

I am out of contention for this year. So this trade would be made looking to the future.

I am assuming you are giving Diggs and Alshon to a contender? If that is the case they will most likely be willing to add a little more to get two solid receiving options for the playoff push. I would try to do it without the pick swap. You could use a QB upgrade and some upgraded depth at RB/WR.

This is pretty close for me. I think you can afford to make this trade, but still feels expensive.

I would probably give that in a 10-team league but agree with what others said above about trying to get him a bit cheaper. Try to swap in a player instead of the pick, or just give your 2nd without getting his 2nd back.

I probably should have done something more productive with that time...

I love OBJ but this has the feel of an overpay. Still, if you do make it, it's not like you're getting a bad deal. If the Eagles re-sign Alshon to be their #1 he's worth a ton, and if the Vikings get somebody who has the arm to chuck it to Diggs, he, too is a stud. But if Alshon gets sent packing and Diggs stays with weak-armed QBs in MIN, getting rid of them is the move.

I'd try to send a second rather than a first.

After going back and forth for a couple days, the final accepted deal was
I give Alshon/Diggs/Shepard
I get OBJ/2nd round pick
I feel pretty good because I got to keep my 1st. My 1st will end up being top 3 now probably which is more valuable then Shepard.
