This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trade for m.gordon

Postby Wejizle » Wed Nov 22, 2017 11:24 pm

Working with m.gordon owner on a trade.
Offering my 2018 first and a player .

Who on my team would be fair value for the trade.
1st rounder will be #5-8 pick
Would 1st Rd pick and d.johnson be too low?
Would 1st Rd pick and d.parker be too high?
I looked on trade history tool and its kinda all over the place.

I'd see if you could do the 1st and Anderson/Parker. It wouldn't be enough for me to let go of Gordon but people are worried.

I'm not worried about gordon. He will be great for champ run this year and still good for next year as well #2-3 year window if you know what I'm talking about

What does the other owner need? I think Gordon is going to be a stud for a few more years, especially since the Chargers aren't splitting carries. I have Gordon and wouldn't dump him for less than a first and a borderline star WR. A good RB who doesn't have to share carries is GOLD. I'd be looking for the first plus Keenan.

If you haven't made the deal yet, maybe you can get him cheaper now after today's poor game.

Melvin Gordon's performances have been concerning lately... Ekeler is also starting to cut into his carries. He definitely is not worth KA and a first as someone said above...however he is worth a first and if you can do it for CJA then i would do it. But I think Gordon is not as much of a lock as some people like to say. They have a new coaching staff on the LAC and he just hasn't performed, so don't be surprised if he continues to lose carries as he has been so ineffective. I would be looking to sell if I had him.

I never see Gordon break tackles which concerns the hell out of me. He is one on one with a defender and almost never gets past them. It is a legit concern. He is completely dependent on his situation. He is a solid runner, he has solid vision, solid hands, and can block. However, he will not get more then is blocked for him most of the time.

This. He doesn't have a single season with more than 3.9 ypc (3.8 this year going into week 12). His value is entirely volume based, and it's tough to see the volume remaining if the efficiency doesn't improve. I don't know how much of that is on him personally vs the o-line, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the Chargers bring in competition for him next year.

He's probably worth the 1st just to make a run this year, and add Parker since you seem to believe his value will last a while. You might well not get him for that, but anything much more seems like an overpay

Gordon is tough to read. He will look good on one play and horrible the next. There definitely has been more bad plays than good ones lately. I’ve been thinking about selling him in my league lately. He’s definitely worrying owners a tad bit even if they won’t admit it

I'd walk away from this completely. Gordon is very overrated. He's not very talented but carries value purely due to volume and i expect that to decrease

Not panic time but Ekeler looks like the smoother back, better burst and has good power while being elusive.
