Trade to win it all?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trade to win it all?

Postby joekuhns11 » Wed Nov 22, 2017 4:25 pm

Team 1 in signature

I am guaranteed top 4 this year due to a 1st round bye.

Trade offer on the table
I get: Kelce
I give: Julio

Julio hasn't helped me all year and neither have my current tight ends. Would this trade hurt or help me. I'd still have Keenan, Michael Thomas and AJG to start and Arob on IR.
Team #1 (Finished 2nd)
QB - Watson
RB - Hall, Jacobs, Mixon
WR - Tyreek, Jefferson, Chase, Jayden Reed, Godwin, Cooper
TE - Goedert, Kmet
2024 Picks: 1.05, 1.10, 2.01

Team #2 (Finished 1st)

RB - Hall, Barkley, K. Walker, James Cook
WR - Chase, D. Smith, D. Adams, Hopkins, Jameson Williams
TE - Laporta
2024 Picks: None

You have the depth at WR to do it but at least get him to throw in a second.

I don't think it's bad, but you should still be able to get more on top.

Not against the move. I think I’d look to have another move made with Olsen and someone else, maybe a draft pick for some additional depth.

Make this X3; I think you can get a second on top of Kelce.

Love to see the high value placed on Kelce, but have to agree that Julio should still net you more.

Yep, should get more. If not, roll with Olsen. He should feast with KB gone.

I'm stunned that so many people say this is close enough to consider. Kelce is closing in on a top 10 overall pick in a dynasty startup? The difference to me is still at least 1st. Julio's TD drought can't last forever, and that's all he's missing (he's 4th in receiving yards in the league this year, and he's done it without the blowup game we all know is coming).

Call me crazy, but I'd take Kelce here pretty quickly.
1. You're contending, and you can upgrade your TE starter a lot with this trade while still having 3 very good WRs.
2. Kelce has outscored Julio by more than 2 PPG this year. Julio is still very good, but he is no longer an elite WR1. The dropoff from the elite tier of TEs is far greater than the dropoff from Julio to guys like Marvin Jones or Michael Crabtree.

I'd look to get something on top, but would be ok with this trade straight across. Julio is great and what not but I think you have to pay a premium for getting a top tight end as its next to impossible to find a guy like Kelce. One target who should be cheaper is Jimmy Graham, he's scoring at a solid rate and won't cost you a player like Julio.

Maybe you could send him Olsen and get more on top of it? Seems extra to give up Julio for another TE

People seem to be forgetting what a freaking stud Julio has been. Agreed with earlier post that all he is missing is TDs.

With Olsen coming back I don't see how I could give up Julio for a TE if it was my team...
