Trade Melvin Gordon for Corey Davis?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trade Melvin Gordon for Corey Davis?

Postby AussieMate » Tue Nov 21, 2017 4:01 pm

My league is a start 2 rbs, 3 wrs. I currently have Gordon, hunt, Ingram, Mixon and Miller as my rbs. My trade partner is going for the ship with ab, cooks, theilin and d Thomas as his wrs but is starting both Duke Johnson and crowell as his starting RBS. I'm a fan of Gordon but my wrs have been lacking and I think Davis price will only go up from here. What needs to be added where? Thanks in advance guys

As a MG owner i'm still a little worried. Essentially the 1.01 isn't bad value but with starting 2RB's i'd ask for a little more back.

I think the current difference is a late 1st. Gordon is proven and Cook not so much.

Thanks for the reply, that's where I was torn. I think I should get something small on top but I'm worried if I don't make this deal it could swing the other way, all it would take is s big game from Davis and his value will soar

I'd want more, especially since he's coming to you and is the one competing.

Davis + late first should do it. Gordon is the bell cow in LA and that's not looking like it's going to change any time soon. I am a solid Davis truther, but he needs the deal more than you need to make it. He wants to win it all, he can pay for it.

I'd need another piece added to the Davis side. Around a late 1st, maybe early 2nd

Thanks guys I'll ask for his first on top and see what his counter is, he's usually ok with trading picks so might work. Could take a few weeks but I'll get back to you on the outcome

Id take davis straight up if you have to. Ekler looks good and could eat into gordons workload going forward and gordon has always been volume dependant.

I own Davis and wouldn't consider trading him for Gordon straight up-even as a contender

Davis' schedule is about to get a whole lot easier, and he's already the most talented WR on his team. His targets are already solid, and his chemistry with Mariota is only going to improve. He was 1.01 for a reason

Gordon's lack of efficiency is bound to catch up with him. I don't want to be the one holding him when it does

Doesn't hurt to try to get more since he's coming to you, but if you can get Davis straight up I'd say you're doing great

As a Davis owner, I agree with others on here who say they wouldn't trade him for Gordon straight up. Davis is a top 5 drafted WR who has the physical skills/production/draft pedigree to be a WR 1 for many years. Gordon is yielding touches to Eckler, not producing as you would expect and is in the more expendable RB position. Give me Davis. If you can get a pick on top then more power to you!!

As a Davis owner and former owner (up until last week) of Gordon, Davis is more valuable. I think Gordon might last until halfway through next season...

He averaged what? 3 YPC today? His bread and butter was volume and it was 100% of the touches. Now ekeler is chewing away more and more at that. I have my doubts about Gordon, hence me trading him away.

How long does Davis last? Who knows, but I'd hate to miss out on a whole career of a top 10 WR for a RB who has maybe 2-3 years left.

Hope this helps!
