Trade involving big name IDP guys

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trade involving big name IDP guys

Postby Thedude30 » Mon Nov 20, 2017 9:06 pm

I'm currently about to be 7-4 and I will be making the playoffs, however my team has been underachieving. I need some consistency, especially on the defensive end and at WR so the trade at this point looks like this.

I give up Julio, Jason Pierre-Paul.
I get Funchess, Bosa, and Landon Collins.

The WRs I have now are Jones, Baldwin, Cooper, D Adams Watkins, Hogan, Coleman.
My DEs are D Lawrence, JPP, Wake, and Hunter
My Safeties are not good.

Here is the scoring of the players involved so you may get an idea how the scoring is.

Julio: 136.50
JPP: 117.50

Funchess: 131
Bosa: 151.75
Collins: 131.65

Know I know how bold it is to sell Julio from a contending team, but I need a change to even think about making the championship. Do I need to think about adding to the funchess/bosa side (my side)?

i don't know about IDP, but as you know (since you commented on my post: thanks by the way), i am concerned about Julio...
i am not sure how i feel about funchess. i think that carolina might address that position again in next year's draft..
how many do you start at each position?
team 1 -start QB RB 2WR TE 2RB/WR 1WR/TE
qbs=5pt tds wr/te=1 ppr rbs=.5ppr all get .25ppc
Watson, Brady, Mills
Ekeler, Hunt, Carson/Penny, DForeman, Mitchell, CPat, Kyren, Ford, KHarris
Cooper, sutton, Chase, Shepard, Atwell, Schwartz, Wan'Dale, Austin III
Gesicki, Engram, Hooper, Woods
team 2 -start QB 2RB 3WR TE 2Flex K D
Cousins, Stafford
DH JT, Ekeler, Kylin Hill, Herbert, KHarris, Chandler
Hopkins, Diggs, Adams, Godwin, McLaurin, Callaway, DPJ, Robby Anderson, Schwartz, Pierce, Wan'Dale, Doubs
Kelce, Andrews, Jacob Harris

I start two DEs, and two safeties, there is also 1 flex D spot. I start 3 WRs and the league is superflex so I have two flex spots there (but i have wentz and wilson so one flex is always used by a QB.)

Funchess is no Julio, and I think they may address a WR in the draft, but I don't know if they'll invest super heavily. I think Funchess and Samuel are in their plans.

Thanks for the comment!

Given the current state of Julio, I still wouldn't make this deal. Even if you don't want to keep Julio, you should be able to pull way more than that in a trade.

It's very close for me, Id try to squeeze out a tad more but it's not terrible. You are getting hands down best dynasty defensive end and safety in the game, imo. Looks like your scoring is fairly balanced and Funchess is playing well. Julios value seems like its dropping, not sure if it'll ever rebound but it's not a terrible package to me.

I don’t think you should have to include JPP in the deal. Tell him you will do the deal without JPP and give him someone not as good. Julio commands that.

I don't like it, dbs are way too volatile depending on scheme change. Honey badger was the best DB for dynasty and now he is on the waivers in my league. Funchess and boss don't make up the difference unless your de's score massive points. Wrong time to sell Julio as well, best off waiting for a big game or 2

Generally try to avoid trading offense for deftense, if you could get a better receiver coming back, I may be interested
