Reed trade

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Reed trade

Postby JetsFan86 » Sat Nov 18, 2017 4:18 pm

For team 1 in sig, currently 8-2 and an owner has made an offer of Westbrook/boyd for reed. Reed cant seem to stay healthy and im not bad off at te. I like the upside of westbrook/boyd smd i have both their qbs. I was thinking of making it reed/3 for westbrook/boyd/2 just for a little round bump up. Should i make this trade given my team or stay put?

I made a mistake last year when I had some depth and sold a player for much less than market value. I'm no Reed apologist and would certainly be shopping him actively with the injury issues, but I feel like you're selling off a quarter for a nickel and dime here.

I don't mind it since you probably don't need Reed. Even if you needed him, who knows whether or not he'd be available.

the odds of you starting Reed are much greater then you starting either of the two guys you would be getting in return...this trade would make more sense if you were rebuilding

Tyler Boyd?

I'd keep Reed. Times will get better.

1 more concussion and reed probably is forced to call it a career. IMO anything you can get do it, maybe make a counter to see if you can get anything better, if not take it

He hasn't had a concussion but a broken toe that he tried to play through, which he probably over compensated for causing other foot and leg injuries. I think if he can wait and get fully healthy then I'd much rather have him and his upside. With your te's I'd hold him and look to move him for a higher value.

Boyd is worth very little. If you can get Westbrook + 2nd, I'd definitely consider that.

Definitely keep Reed. You could get much better than the offer given as there will be owners desperate for a TE and although he has injury problems, his name alone would gain a bigger return.

Will they? Track record at this point seems to say otherwise. Reed is a player I'd completely avoid, there might be upside but you're gonna lose sleep over news that says he slipped on a banana peel.

I’m a fellow reed owner and I am in the camp of holding him. His value is probably as low as it can get, I feel he is going to bounce back next year. I am sitting on him looking to sell high after some big games.
