Are Thielen and Woods the real deal?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Are Thielen and Woods the real deal?

Postby mabeibefunny » Wed Nov 15, 2017 8:56 am

Every year I feel I am left debating whether or not to buy into a player and their performance... are these two (Thielen and Woods[LAR]) legit, or just a flash in a pan?

Based upon my observation, Thielen is the real deal. He has been consistent all last year to the present. I have seen enough to say Thielen deserves the respect. On the other hand, I'd say the verdict is still out on Woods. Woods has been steady but only these past 2 weeks he blew up. I'd like to see more especially with Watkins, and Kupp, Watkins and Higbee sharing targets. Thielen has been a steady WR 1/2 despite Diggs being present.
Team 1 - 12 team
QB - R. Wilson, J. Herbert, Cam Newton, J Stideham
RB - D. Cook, N. Chubb, Miles Sanders, Boston Scott, Duke Johnson
WR - D. Adams, M. Evans, B. Cooks, OBJ, Gallup, John Brown, G. Tate, Mooney, Agholor, Byrd, Duvernary
TE - Gronk, Ertz, Gesicki, Richard Rogers, Everett, K. Smith
K - Koo, Bullock
DT - Richardson, Autry
DE - JPP, D Lawrence, E. Griffen, Idebajeo
LB - B. Martinez, A. Johnson, Schobert, Bostic, Onwusar, Nwosu, Malik Reed, P. Smith
CB - Peters, Desir, Ward, Jonathan Jones, T. White
S - C. Clark, K. Neal, Maye, Tartt, Ronnie Harrison

I wouldn't being buying Woods at all, but Thielen is absolutely legit as a talent.

Theilen is kinda on his second seasons doing this so maybe legit. Woods I think is going to depend alot on Sammy. Contract year and he going to want money. I think if LA pays him they have to get him more involved . They gave a 2nd round pick and corner so I'd assume Sammy is staying

As a Diggs owner, I still prefer Diggs for his touchdown potential, but would absolutely love to land Theilen for those 2-3 weeks that Diggs is hurt every year. And even with Diggs there, they both put up solid numbers.

As for Woods, I think he's more of a flash in the pan. I see the Rams adding to that WR corps in the off-season/draft to help Goff out

Thielen is the real deal. Woods is close, until he proves us wrong. Goff seems to love him.

Awesome feedback, thanks everyone. I have been feeling the same, but part of me is still keeping an eye on Woods because he was quite the talent coming out of USC, and starting his career at Buf didn't do him any favors...

I think Thielen has done it long enough now with questionable QB play to say he's the real deal. My only issue with him is his age and why it took so long for him to break-out. Regardless, he's a very good WR and wouldn't mind having him on my team. As for Woods, I don't think he continues the pace he's been on the past few weeks, but I think he'll be a nice WR3 for several years in that offense. He's doing what everyone expected Watkins to do.

Just to preface this, I'm a Minnesota fan. This is only his 5th season (went four in college at a small school in SW MN). First year, he was practice squad, second year he was an all-pro special teams player and NFC special teams player of the year, 3rd year, he played a ton of ST and got a little more involved, 4th year he slowly got put in after a huge preseason and ended up beating out Treadwell to put up solid numbers, and now we're here with him being minny's number 2.

He has made it up fairly quickly for an undrafted player from a division 2 school.

I agree, he'll put up solid numbers, but he's not a fantasy stud or anything like that.

X2

Thielen won't be leaving my squad for less than the 1.01

Woods, on the other hand, is a fraud WR1. He's a WR3 who looks like a very safe floor guy, but he just had the best couple games of his career IMO
