Upgrading Running Back Position

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Upgrading Running Back Position

Postby ThatGuyBrian » Fri Nov 10, 2017 9:00 am

Currently my dynasty team sits at 7-2 and is strong at the receiver position. I was wondering if I should try to trade one of my receivers to go after Shady McCoy or just continue move forward with Gurley and random second running back.

The team, who's owner passed away after a battle with leukemia three weeks ago, is weak at receiver and I was considering offering either Dez Bryant, or Hilton to get LeSean McCoy. Now I don't even know if whoever is running the team will do trades, considering it may be another owner, but figured I would try.

I am trying to decide if I should trade for McCoy using one of my receivers or if I should stand pat with what I have. Alright I changed the thread name. Sorry for the confusion

Sorry. I just don't know how exactly to handle purposing a trade involving this team.

Now that we've addressed the odd nature of the inquiry, you're playing in a 10 team league. You need to be starting studs and depth becomes less valuable than in deeper leagues. I would absolutely consider trading in some WR depth to attain a stud RB to play along side of Gurley.

I wouldn't give Dez or Hilton for McCoy.

Well right now I am pretty much in desperation mode at the running back position since Aaron Jones is slated to miss time with a MCL strain. It also looks like I can't trade with the aforementioned team because they don't want to do anything with the team before a new owner takes over.

So now do I start trying to get a younger running back with upside and offer up Juju? It may not happen this week or next, but I can see a situation where Goff and Gurley don't put up the points they have been over that past weeks and I get nothing out of the other RB slot.

I think that teams are realizing / have realized that McCoy is pretty much the only talent on the Bills offense and the only way they can win. Shut him down and they can't move the ball. After years of wear and tear he is slowing down a step. I wouldn't offer up much to land him. And with the whole "situation" not sure it would be a option.
