How did I do?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

We're still talking dynasty aren't we? And no, not just last year, but his entire career.

So yes Matt Ryan is younger so he wins that but look at career
G Att Comp Pct Att/G Yds Avg Yds/G TD TD% Int Int% Lng 20+ 40+ Sck SckY Rate
151-5,363-3,487-65.0-35.5-40,073-7.5-265.4-253-4.7-122-2.3-90-457-88-270-1,789-93.6

Phillip Rivers
G Att Comp Pct Att/G Yds Avg Yds/G TD TD% Int Int% Lng 20+ 40+ Sck SckY Rate
189-6,240-4,005-64.2-33.0-48,096-7.7-254.5-329-5.3-163-2.6-81-625-102-373-2,255-94.4

I wouldn't say Ryan is that much better than Rivers, and if I get 4 more years out of Rivers so be it.

I like the trade. In my SF league settings. Thielen is 29th overall and rivers is 42 ryan is 45. So it is good trade this year. Matt Ryan has returned back to his norm. It looks like last year was the outlier. So you get pretty even QB's for sure a top WR makes up the difference in age.

But why, hes not having a good season, rivers is arguably performing better, I got a top WR and a pick.

In fact I "Fleeced" him!

Wow, I had no idea people were so high on Ryan. I feel like there's a bit of a value hangover for him, because outside of what seems like an aberration of a season last year him and Rivers seem to have been producing at a pretty similar clip over the last 5 years or so.

What are you really getting out of Ryan? Another 2 years of playing time compared to Rivers? The difference between two high end QB2s seems like it could be gapped by Thielen and a 2nd, especially if the team is contending right now.

Not a fan of this trade for you at all.

Matt Ryan is underappreciated but people are down on him since he seems to be having one of his worst years a year after his MVP run.

I'm wondering why you're asking for advice and then fighting everybody who doesn't agree with what you did. Asking "How did I do?" and then arguing with the people who took their time to help you is in poor taste. If you're going to argue this much in favor of the trade, you're confident enough not to have to ask what everybody thought of it.

I have Ryan in a Superflex league and I'm hoping they get the offense on track next year before I would consider trading him. Rivers is a talented QB, but I'm not sure he wants to stick around forever. That said, you definitely needed receiver help. I think you get Rivers for two more years MAX (Remember he commutes from SD, and no, I'm not joking). Thielen is a nice slot receiver. But you're dumping Ryan when his value is lowest, that is why most of us don't like this trade. And Westbrook is a fourth-round, injured rookie on a run-first team quarterbacked by Blake Bortles.

Is this trade defensible? Yes. Is it a good trade for you in my opinion? No.

Well when asking for advice, getting a reply of I don't like it....

To me that's not really advice, that's just a yes or no answer with out any reason.

See your answer I can respect. its thought out and detailed.

and the reason why I argue back because I have had experience with how did I do on another part of this board and it I believe got closed because it wasn't in the right section, I was to defend it with out getting backlash. Backlash (meaning I should not defend it because its not proper).

no one buys high ever, and if they do their are inexperienced owners, or just don't know what they are doing. I don't believe Ryan is at his low. I would imagine he has been worse but if this is his low, ill take this deal all day!

OP has very much a redraft mentality still. Might help this year, but Rivers is a substantial drop down from Matt Ryan in SF and it won't likely pay itself off in the next 5-10 years

If Matt Ryan is playing at top 5 elite level in the next 5-10 years then I agree, if Rivers gives me 3-4 more years ill still be happy. Theilen should give me 3-5 as well in addition to the pick.

I will be sure to bump this form each year as well as long as im in a dynasty league =)
