Superflex: Flacco or late 2018 1st

Postby wingnutty » Sun Nov 05, 2017 7:53 am

In a superflex. I'm in the hunt but need a 2nd QB (have luck as my 2nd). Would you trade a later-ish 1st for Flacco?

Man....I probably wouldn't or would look for someone else like mccown for a 2nd.

If I were to consider trading a first I'd rather add to that for a much better qb than flacco

Nobody's going to trade you a better one for a late-1st though, at least I don't think they would.

I agree, but I think you can get a McCown type for a 2nd. Or add to the 1st and get someone better.

Ugh no I wouldn't. I agree aim higher there or lower, but he's not a guy I would target. Maybe Teddy Bridgewater can be had cheap if u can hold out a week or two? McCown was solid advice if u can get him cheaper. Brisset possibly could be an option...or Hundly, Lynch, Savage type if you want to gamble. Honestly I'd rather buy Cutler than Flacco, but neither for a 1st.

If I had Flacco I'd be trying to get someone to take him for free he's a complete bum. Has to be the worst quarterback in the league

Do you really "need a QB" if that QB isn't scoring like a QB? Flacco is scoring about equal to RB35, less than a point better than RB45. Regular flex players are outscoring him even though he's a QB, why not just start those guys?

I have to imagine he's worth more than a late 1st in a sf unless this is an 8 or 10 team league? He isn't having a good year but he doesn't really have a good supporting cast either.

X2
The idea that you ‘have to’ start two QBs to win in a Superflex is overblown.

If you aren't concerned with the injuries or that Baltimore may move on from him....he's worth the late 1st to give you 3 qbs going forward.

That said...I'd try to find a cheaper option aswell. 1st are very valuable in superflex leagues. Qbs present unique drafts and guys fall... whether that be qbs or positional players.

Yeah, you're probably better off rolling with a non-QB in that superflex spot.

In a superflex league, there are a good number of QBs worth a late 1st. Flacco isn't one of them. We are 9 weeks into the year, he has two double digit games including a negative point outing. There is a reason that his peers rate him as the second most overrated QB in the NFL (behind Eli Manning).
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.
