Gronk or Sammy

Postby Martpe » Thu Oct 26, 2017 5:07 am

For team 1 in sig:

Buy: Gronk and Abdullah
Sell: Sammy and Fiedo

Team is 5-2 but with low total score and thus currently 1 loss away from missing playoff (as of week 7)

Would you make this move?
Team 1, 0.5 PPR SuperFlex: QB, FlexQB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, Flex
QB: Watson, Herbert (Mariota)
RB: Barkley, Jacobs, Dobbins (Akers, K Herbert)
WR: DJ Moore, Woods, Golladay (T Patrick, Shenault, Rondale M, Cephus)
TE: Goedert (Njoku, Bryant, Trautman)
Pick 1.01

I think it depends on if you’re all in this year. If you are then yes, Gronk will really help your team. The downside is what happens next year if Sammy goes to a team that a actually uses him. But even then, his ceiling is what Gronk gives you right now.
QB: Lamar Jackson, Matthew Stafford
RB: Dalvin Cook, D'Andre Swift, Chris Carson , Jerrick McKinnon, Alexander Mattisson
WR: DeAndre Hopkins, Michael Thomas, Adam Thielen, Will Fuller, Darius Slayton, Brandon Aiyuk, Keelan Cole,

Gronk. Both players come with obvious risk, but at least Gronk is producing, and producing at a high level.

Gronk side. For those talking upside for Sammy gronk has that at TE. He has the upside of potentially playing for years. That is the risk everyone is worried about. TE play late but this one is banged up. So far superior player with upside of playing for years vs very inconsistent player with only a name with upside of becoming a good player. You take the name away and everyone would say flash in the pan player.
