Trade for short term solution at RB?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trade for short term solution at RB?

Postby SixStringJedi » Sat Oct 21, 2017 7:14 am

Hey guys, first time posting. Hoping to gain some opinions on a situation I'm in...

Like many, I fell victim to the DJ injury. BUT somehow am still 4-2. I recently activated Alvin Kamara to try to salvage what I thought would be a lost season. Since I'm still "competing" (I know that can turn with a swiftness), should I go after Demarco Murray as a (very) short term solution? Owner is willing to trade but is wanting some youth on my Taxi/combo of picks.

I haven't seen lately what the price of Demarco is with the inevitable Derrick Henry takeover coming sooner rather than later. Should I try to swing a deal? Or just ride out what I've got and hope DJ comes back in time for a playoff push....

Team in my sig, as you can tell is WRECKED at RB, even with DJ I was weak in that position. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Side note - Been shopping my 1st and more for a few higher tier RBs but all but 2 teams are still competing so DM may be my only "option".

Honestly had a similar opinion myself. WR's are getting up there in age and am gutted at RB. My season can take a turn for the worst in a heartbeat.

Thanks for the input!

In a PPR, I'm not sure that Murray is better than Ellington for this year. And, if he is, it's not by much.

I'd hold (as noted, you're winning -- great!! -- but I don't see Murray as the missing piece.)
10 tms 27 plrs PPR
Start: 2QB 2RB 3WR 2TE 2Flex / best ball

QB: Herbert, Love, Rodgers, G Smith, Stidham, T Taylor, Hall
RB: McCaffrey, Mixon, Pacheco, Montgomery, Z White, Allgeier, Dillon
WR: Hill, St. Brown, Kupp, Allen, Lockett, B Johnson
TE: Kelce, Kmet, Kraft, Okonkwo, Dulcich, Tremble

2024: 2.09, 3.07, 3.08, 3.10, 4.08
2025: 2nd (x2), 4th, 5th (x2)
2026: 1st, 2nd (x2), 3rd, 4th, 5th

12 tms 22 active plyrs. Salary Cap $300 PPR
Start: 1QB 2RB 3WR 1TE 1SF 1Flex / best ball

QB: Lawrence (contract through 2026), Love ('24), Rodgers ('24), Stidham ('25), Lock ('25)
RB: Bijan Robinson ('25), Pollard ('27), Dillon ('24), Rodriguez ('24), Spiller ('24)
WR: G Wilson ('26), AJ Brown ('26), DJ Montgomery ('25)
TE: --
2024 Cap Spent: $186

What exactly is the Murray owner asking for in return? But I do agree with the above posts, not sure it'll make a difference.

It may be best for you to ride it out unless you are able to get a long term solution, at least we longer than Murray.
