Call me crazy but this might actually be a losing deal. Better hope the pick is in the top 2 of next year's draft. A-a-ron has looked legit and has taken over the workhorse role in the GB backfield, injured ribs for TY or not. He might not have the draft pedigree but how can you rather have Sutten / Ridley / Chubb over him at this point?

Yes. Jones was drafted along with 2 other RBs this year by the Packers. He has very little job security if he starts to underperform or a possible injury comes up. Whereas, anyone drafted with a top 5 pick should be a better talent than Jones and have much greater job security at a position where low draft pedigree RBs are a revolving door.

Season-ending injury aside, Jones will be worth more than the 5th pick in the 2018 draft by the end of the season. That has the chalorpas guarantee.

I feel like this is going to be pretty close come seasons-end. Jones has a pretty good chance of being a nice piece heading into next year, and if things break the right way he could be looked at very favorably with Rodgers coming back. But there is more risk on the Jones' side for sure, as he isn't all that insulated. The smart move seems like it would be to sell Jones now, but I'll admit that it would be tough for me to do.
