Corey Davis Trade *update*

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Oddball456 wrote: Thu Oct 19, 2017 7:46 am I guess I don't understand the Corey Davis love. I do like him and wish he was on my team, and he was drafted early-mid 1st round this year (he was actually drafted 7th in my league as everyone wanted RBs) but hasn't done anything to increase or decrease his value. I think what looks to be an early 2018 first would be a fair trade for CD. Your team looks pretty stacked at both WR and RB so getting a early first next year gives you flexibility to pick whomever. And also getting AA and Brate is a nice bonus, and you could turn them into picks if you don't need them on your bench.

I don't fault anyone if they decided to keep CD in this trade, but I think at this time it is more than fair value.
Davis was 1.02 in a lot of drafts in a loaded draft class, and a lot of people had him as the top overall player. Taking a first which is at this point random and some depth pieces for him doesn't make sense to me. I really don't think this is close personally.
I had to reread what had been posted, I thought that the trade partner was 0-6 and therefore the pick was 1.4 at worst and could end up being 1.01, not that it would be a 1.04 at best. I would keep CD if it is just a mid first.

A little off topic, but I'm on board with this post. While the trade as presented is quite light, I have made a couple offers for Corey Davis in one league where I am 1-5 and fading fast, both involving me giving Julio to a contending team that needs a WR...and got shot down without a counter.

Yeah, he's a very good WR and he got picked #1 or 2 in rookie drafts, I get it. But people need to forget what they paid for him...it's irelevant at this stage, like saying Cody Latimer is still worth a first because that's where he was drafted. Seeing people turning down Julio type players for him, that's just crazy.

Latimer wasn't a top 5 pick. It still took a couple years before the shine wore off completely. It's not even halfway into Davis's rookie season.

Julio isn't a Julio type player right now so that factors into the equation. Did you offer Julio straight up? What was the actual offer that was turned down?

Julio for Davis/Cooper
Julio for Davis/C. Coleman

Guy has not started Cooper for 4 weeks, had him on the bench for freakin Bennie Fowler this week.

I wouldn't have done the 1st deal as a Davis owner. 2nd offer would be a pretty quick accept. Pretty big difference in the 2 offers.
