Brandin Cooks vs. Fournette

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Brandin Cooks vs. Fournette

Postby LaDarius » Mon Oct 16, 2017 7:27 pm

Who has more value - Brandin Cooks or Leonard Fournette?

What has to be added to either side to make up the difference?

Thanks for all replies.

LF. I think I would need cooks with a top pick to get rid of him. He has been impressive on a crap jags team.

I'd say Fournette by an early 2nd, just maybe a late first.

Fournette for sure. It would have to be cooks and a high first to get him I think.

fournette by a lot for me, i dont like starting wrs that kill your score more often than they blow up for big games. fournette is as solid as it gets. id need a lot to make that deal but my personal views on each player impact that

12 team, 1 pt for 4 rec, 0.1 per rush
1qb, 3 rb, 4 wr, te, k, 4 idp
Dak , Herbert
Achane, Breece Hall, KW3Kyren,Ford, Miller, Spiller, z evans, singletary
J Jefferson, Diggs, DK, D Smith Puka, C Watson, E Moore

Hopkins, Evans, g Wilson Mingo, shaheed, Jamo
Kelce,McBride, Chig,

1,2,3,3,5

team 3
14 team sf, even scoring idp to offense (rb scores highly too)
Josh Allen, A Rich, Foles, Rudolph
Bijan, Charbs, Spears, Ebner
J Williams, G Wilson, C Watson, Flowers, J Addison, Tillman

Cooks is a bit of an avoid player of late .. I don't think this would even be close to get Fournette, usually if you go after a RB, you have to give one in return

Fournette has lived up to every ounce of hype and there is uncertainty with Cooks production on the Pats. I think it takes at least a mid first to the Cooks side, maybe more as Fournette is approaching Zeke territory of value. Especially if the Jags can get better players around him for next year

No Fournette owner is selling him for cooks unless a lot is added

I think it really depends on roster composition but Fournette looks incredible and I can count the number of running backs that get 25 touches a game on one hand so I'd rather have Fournette for that reason alone. Also Cooks is the epitome of finishing the year as a top 10 WR but losing you way more weeks than actually helping you because of the boom bust type of player he is. For those reasons I'd want cooks and a mid to early first round pick tbh.

Cooks and it isn't even close. RBs come and go, Cooks will be around for likely another 8-10 years proving you fantastic production (as long as you can ride the lows, he should not be your WR1 by himself) where as Fournette has an injury history and is being driven into the GROUND. But this also depends on your situation/league/scoring, blah blah blah. RBs are always replaceable during a year (see Mckinnon, Darkwa, Carson (pre injury), Buck Allen). People who invest insane amounts of capital into RBs are playing extremely risky dynasty football. If I owned Fournette I would ride him this year and sell high on him at the end to a team that wants to give me something solid + a good first round pick.

I think Cooks is a great buy right now and am as high on him as anyone here, but this is Fournette easily. If we redrafted dynasty startups right now Fournette would be a top 5 overall pick and Cooks a mid 2nd rounder. The gap is at least a 1st, and that is probably buying low on Fournette as by next offseason he will likely command Zeke/OBJ type insane value to pry away from his owners.
