McKinnon's value - Sell or Hold
Looking to sell McKinnon for Team 2 in signature that is in a heavy rebuild.
Sell or hold? Always loved his athleticism, but can't you argue this is his ceiling? Seems destined to be on another team next year, and is anyone really making him a feature back? IMO his ceiling is that of Ameer Abdullah (15 carries), but more realistically probably will be something like Jamall Charles this year (8-10 carries).
What kind of return should I be looking for if I try selling him to a contender? Or am I ahead of myself and should continue to hold and see what happens?

Re: McKinnon's value - Sell or Hold
That is what I was feeling. Feels like a hold for contenders and a high sell for a rebuilding team. I feel confident shopping him for a 1st, but if that doesn't fly then I would have to imagine I can get a couple of 2nds by EOY.lukkynumber13 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 16, 2017 2:34 pm You should realistically ask for a First after these last couple performances. Re: McKinnon's value - Sell or Hold
He's definitely a sell. If he stays in Minnesota next year, we know Cook will be the starter and he won't come close to doing what he's done the past 2 games. If you think he'll go somewhere else and be the main guy, then you can hold, but I don't see that happening.

Re: McKinnon's value - Sell or Hold
I agree, I believe this is his ceiling and he won’t sustain it. I’d be looking to sell quick though before he comes back to his norm. I’d target contenders who need RB depth and look to get a late 1st/early 2nd.AugieFootball50 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 16, 2017 2:26 pm Looking to sell McKinnon for Team 2 in signature that is in a heavy rebuild.

I’m holding for now. I’m contending and need the RB help pretty badly. I’ll probably look to sell in the offseason. I couldn’t argue with flipping him for a 1st if you’re rebuilding.

Re: McKinnon's value - Sell or Hold
Ended up selling McKinnon/Marqise Lee to a contender for a 1st and 3rd. Would have loved to see a 2nd out of Lee, but I'm happy.
Re: McKinnon's value - Sell or Hold
That's a good trade. McKinnon holders should be excited he is of great use to a contending team as an RB2 with surprising upside but only for this year. He's a great change of pace back but not a starter and with his contract up, he's not even worth it to be Cook's handcuffAugieFootball50 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 17, 2017 12:02 pm Ended up selling McKinnon/Marqise Lee to a contender for a 1st and 3rd. Re: McKinnon's value - Sell or Hold
I am a buyer in redraft, seller in dynasty.
I struggle to see a realistic chance of him moving on to be a starter anywhere else. In order to do so, he would have to:
1. End up somewhere like NYJ, BAL?, SEA?, Indy, Philly?. So I see 3-5 teams where he could push for committee work. Then on top of that, he would have to:
2. Survive another talented rookie RB class that is coming out. Saquon Barkley, Derrius Guice, Nick Chubb, Ronald Jones, Royce Freeman, etc. That's five names id much rather have than McKinnon, and that's before you factor in some others who could easily end up being worth more than him in the off-season.
So I'll ask anybody who is holding/buying: what are you hoping for long-term? What paths to fantasy relevance do you see?
Aside from his production being of use to 2017 contenders, which is worth something, I struggle to see how he could end up being worth more than a top 15-20 rookie pick 12 months from now.
