Is Tom Brady worth a 2019 1st round pick?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Is Tom Brady worth a 2019 1st round pick?

Postby kris_kapsner » Mon Oct 16, 2017 1:08 pm

I lost Aaron Rogers.

I lost my back up Tannehill before the season even started.

I have Flacco who is doing nothing.

Hopefully I get David Johnson back in time for a strong play off finish.

I should be 1st place in the league if D. Murray can put up 4 points tonight and put me at 5-1 on the season tied with a couple other teams in my league. I was in 1st with points scored.

I have an offer right now for my 1st round pick in 2019 for Tom Brady.

I certainly would be in good shape for the rest of the year and hopefully still pull out another championship, as I'm defending a league win last year. But, is Brady worth it? How much longer will he play? Is giving up a 1st for a 1 year rental worth it.

Just looking for some advice. Thanks.

You have a great looking squad for a 16 team league. I recently inquired about TB in my league and got a similar price. In your situation, I think it's worth it. I also don't think its a 1 year rental, maybe 1 1/2, maybe 2 1/2. Either way, a late for you sounds fair.

Can you counter with a 2018 2nd instead?

It's a little steep, but starting QBs are harder to come by in 16-team leagues, so I think it's a more than fair price for a contending team.

It's gonna be late, if he won't take less than that then I'd be willing to give it up

I think I’d do that in a 16-team league. You have a pretty small window anyway, with Fitz retiring after this year and both Dez and AJG pushing 30. Might as well go all in and make the most of it.
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties

I'd do it. Hopefully, if you want, you could trade him next year for a 2nd in 2019 -- essentially just dropping down one round for his immediate year of production.
